Could Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck rekindle their romance… again? Some fans seem to think so after the exes reunited at the New York premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman. You would think that a public reunion just months after finalizing a divorce would be awkward and uncomfortable, but Jennifer and Ben actually appeared pretty cozy.
And while the cozy moment seemed unexpected and a little weird, fans are here for it. “I love whatever is wrong with the two of them,” one fan wrote in response to the cozy moment.
When Jennifer and Ben tied the knot, they had already been engaged years prior.
When Jennifer and Ben got back together in 2021, years after their initial breakup in 2004, many fans were rooting for them. The former couple got engaged for the first time in November 2002 before calling it quits and going on to marry other people. Nearly 20 years later, they reconnected and got engaged again. Though they actually did tie the knot that time, the romance didn’t last long. After two years of marriage, Jennifer filed for divorce.

Or something like that. on Monday, October 6, the exes reunited on the red carpet. It’s not all that surprising that they crossed paths given that Ben worked as an executive producer on Kiss of the Spider Woman, which Jennifer stars in. But fans were more interested in the way they acted when they ran into each other. Ben appeared to ask Jennifer to pose for a photo with him while she was in the middle of an interview. Surprisingly, they looked quite cozy as they posed for photos together.
Reacting to the moment on Reddit, one fan wrote, “I hate how much I want them to work. I know it’s never gonna work and they have tried multiple times, but I just feel like they make sense.” Another fan speculated, “I have a feeling they are not done with each other. Give it a few years for Bennifer 3.0 lol.”
While one person observed that they have “the strangest relationship,” others said they’re still invested in “Bennifer.” A third fan said, “I’m just going to say it now, and it might not be a popular opinion given how his team moved during the divorce, but I can’t wait to support their next inevitable marriage. But a body language expert claims the interaction was forced.
Body language expert Judi James suggested that fans have no reason to get their hopes up. Judi told the Daily Mail that Ben seemed uncomfortable on the red carpet in spite of his apparent happiness. “His staccato, slightly jumpy movements and his insistently animated behavior look off-brand,” she said, adding that his behaviors seemed performative, not natural.
Jennifer also sparked similar romance rumors with a recent Instagram post.
After Jennifer shared a photo of herself on September 27, fans quickly noticed her necklace. “Am I crazy or does the necklace say Bennifer?!” one fan questioned. In reality, the necklace likely just said “Jennifer,” but fans who are “Team Bennifer” are clearly looking for signs that it’s not truly over.
