Jennifer Lopez is currently on tour for the first time in six years. Her Up All Night tour comes on the heels of her divorce from Ben Affleck, and has made headlines due to the risqué performances. Videos shared on social media show the 55-year-old “Jenny From The Block” singer mimicking sex positions on stage. Some critics have taken to social media to suggest that Jennifer’s shows are too sexual, especially at her age. But others have come to her defense and argued they’ve seen worse.
She recently performed at the Cook Music Festival in Tenerife, Spain.
Jennifer is currently performing in Europe. On Saturday, July 19, she performed at a festival on Spain’s Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, and some shocking footage from the performance quickly went viral. During the performance, Jennifer suggestively mimicked various sex acts. Oli London shared a video from Jennifer’s performance on X, captioning it with, “55-year-old Jennifer Lopez puts on shocking raunchy performance while crawling on all fours with male dancers.”
Some people have compared Jennifer’s performance to those of much younger artists.

Sabrina Carpenter, who is 26 years old, has also recently garnered criticism for mimicking sex acts on stage. Some critics on social media suggested that this type of performance should be reserved for younger artists like Sabrina. “[Jennifer’s] fabulously fit at 55 … but she is 55,” one person wrote on X. “Let the next generation of beautiful young women have their moment and evolve into the role of attractive but wise mentor.”
However, others disagreed with this take and questioned what the problem was. “Look, I don’t like this, but I have to wonder,” another person wrote. “What is so bad about it to everyone? That she’s 55 instead of 25? If she were 25 it would be fine? She looks terrific. What’s the problem here? Don’t like it? Don’t look at it.”
Some people definitely seemed to make it about Jennifer’s age — and others slammed them for it.
The raunchy clip sparked a debate not only about whether this kind of performance is appropriate, but also about who should do something like this. Hint: Many people think older women should not.
One critic wrote, “Somebody come get their grandma.”
A second critic added: “She needs to stop demeaning herself like this. Ladies, after 40 certain things are just trashy.”
Some critics even brought Jennifer’s failed marriages into the conversation. “No wonder she can’t keep a man. Yes she’s beautiful, but there’s no reason to act like that!!” a third critic argued. “She’s in her 50’s and has children.”
But a fourth person had a message for all of the haters: “Meh, I’ve seen much worse. And, to the men complaining that she’s over the hill because she’s 55; you’re never satisfied, period. You want everything both ways and you are the problem. She looks great.”
Another person seemed to agree, writing: “The ageist sexist crap is not ok. Stop it. You’re aging, too.”
During a recent performance, Jennifer said she’s ‘done’ with marriage.
Jennifer and Ben finalized their divorce in January 2025. In addition to Ben, Jennifer has three other ex-husbands: Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and Marc Anthony. At this point, it seems like she’s decided that marriage isn’t for her. During a performance on July 15 Jennifer responded to a fan-made sign that read, “J Lo, marry me?”
“I think I’m done with that,” she said, per People. “I’ve tried that a few times.”
