What happens in California stays in California, right? At least, that might be what Jessa Duggar and her husband, Ben Seewald, might be thinking right now, judging by how they're spending their vacation. Apparently, Jessa and Ben were spotted breaking a major family rule while out on the West Coast: They were drinking cocktails. The horror!
Jessa and Ben are currently visiting Jinger in California.
It looks like Jessa and Ben — along with fellow Duggar sisters Jana and Jennifer — are in Los Angeles visiting Jinger and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo. This isn't the first time that's happened since the Vuolos moved to the West Coast, but it's certainly the first time we've seen them exhibiting this kind of behavior on vacay.
Ben was spotted with what looks like a fruity cocktail at dinner.
In the photo, which surfaced on Facebook, according to The Sun, Ben has a big orange drink in a cocktail glass in front of him as he's trying to keep it away from the kids, including Spurgeon, who are reaching for it.
That definitely looks like something alcoholic to us!
Of course, there's always the chance it's a virgin drink.
We wouldn't be surprised if Ben ordered a fancy drink that didn't actually have alcohol in it. That's because, as long as we've known him, he and Jessa haven't been drinkers. It is against Jim Bob's rules, after all.
There have been rumors that Jinger and Jeremy drink, however, so maybe they managed to change their minds.
That's not the only rule Jessa's been breaking in California.
Jinger shared several photos from the trip on Instagram, and they included both Jessa and Jana wearing jeans — OMG. Both of them have been spotted in pants before, but not too often. And Jessa's jeans have holes in the knees.
So scandalous!
Maybe the Duggars are evolving.
Don't get us wrong — we doubt that Jessa and Ben will ever become quite as rebellious against Jim Bob and Michelle as Jill and Derick are.
But it feels like there's been a definite shift in the family dynamic over the last year or so. Maybe the cocktails are here to stay!
