What to Know
Pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood are true blessings and some of the happiest times of a woman’s life. No matter how big your baby is or how you deliver, growing a baby inside your body changes a woman.
Even though it’s natural for bodies to change, it can take a long time after having a baby to feel like yourself. This happens to every woman, including big-name celebrities. You can have all the money in the world and access to the best foods, trainers, and doctors, and it still takes time. Just ask Jessica Biel.
The 44-year-old mom shares sons Silas, 11, and Phineas, 6, with her husband Justin Timberlake. She’s been in the parenthood game for more than a decade, and the Matchbox: The Movie star still struggles.
Biel transitioned back to work slowly.
During a recent interview with People, the boy mom shared that motherhood was a totally new adventure for her. She admitted adjusting and adapting to the physical changes took time.
“After you have kids, your body does crazy things,” she said. “And you’re like, ‘When is this body ever going to feel like mine again?’ And I think, finally, I have an 11-year-old and a 6-year-old now, and I kind of feel like myself again after 11 years, which sounds crazy.”
Her newest project is very important to her.
As a mom to two sons, Biel knew that Matchbox: The Movie came along at a perfect time for her. She’s back to a level of physical fitness that she feels confident in, and her boys are young enough to enjoy the subject matter.
“I really felt like I could trust myself to have the physical capabilities to do something like this again,” she told People. “It just was the perfect timing and felt like an opportunity that my kids would be proud of, that they could see. And that maybe they’d think I was kind of cool because, you know, cars and stuff.”
She shared a similar message with the news outlet at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026.
“I have little kids, you know, there’s a lot of elements that go into a decision, for me at least,” Biel said. “I wanted to do something in the action space again, and this just seemed like the right thing. I was really excited to be a part of it.”
Her sons loved the movie.
She told People that both Silas and Phineas went to the New York City premiere on October 5, and they both loved it. Her older son, who also has a cameo in the film, only had one critique for his mom. She wears a green dress with a pretty deep plunge that he did not love.
“My son Silas was very concerned about the green dress,” she laughed. “He was like, ‘What are you wearing, Mom? Yuck!’”
Stars and their kids really are just like us.
