Simply put, these days Jinger Duggar‘s life looks nothing like it did when she was still living under the roof of parents Jim Bob and Michelle. Since marrying Jeremy Vuolo and taking on life as an adult with her own family to raise, Jinger has walked away from the Institute in Basic Life Principles, the religion that her parents raised her and her 18 siblings in. Though many of her beliefs have changed in that time, it’s clear that her view on abortion has not.

Jinger opened up about the topic while appearing on a podcast.
When she appeared on theΒ Lila Rose Podcast this week, Jinger was asked about her views on abortion β which was unsurprising because host Lila Rose is an anti-abortion advocate.
Considering how her family has always been very openly against abortion, it shouldn’t be unexpected to hear that her views on this divisive topic haven’t changed, even if she is wearing shorts and tank tops these days.
Jinger said it all comes back to religion.
“I think just realizing what God says about life from conception,” Jinger responded on the podcast, per Distractify. “As a Christian, I have no other way that I could get around that. I know some Christians try to, but life matters to God, so it matters to me. Even the tiniest baby matters, and that life should not be taken. They should be able to have a voice, even inside the womb.”
Commenters weren't impressed with Jinger's answer.
Although some commenters praised Jinger for staying true to her beliefs, many others were disappointed that this is one issue she hasn’t changed her mind about.
“You donβt like abortions? Then donβt have one. Plain and simple. Just donβt take my rights away from me, my daughter, daughter in law and grandchild. Our body, our choice. Period,” one person wrote.
Another commenter shared, “Keep religion out of medical procedures!!!! Itβs healthcare until viability outside the womb!”

It's not too shocking that Jinger hasn't changed her mind.
As Distractify pointed out, however, it is surprising that Jinger’s views haven’t shifted at least a little after watching her sister, Jessa, go through a D&C β which is technically considered an abortion and sometimes even a life-saving medical procedure β following a miscarriage in February 2023.
Even Jessa’s mind didn’t change, though, and she’s the one who experienced it.
“There’s a world of difference between someone dying and someone being killed,” Jessa wrote when she responded to the backlash she received for it last year. “To equate one to the other β and to a mother grieving the loss of her baby no less β is severely distasteful.”
Jinger has come a long way.
Considering how restrictive her family’s beliefs were growing up, Jinger really has changed a lot, from her wardrobe to the fundamentals by which she lives her life. But this may end up being one of those topics she never changes her mind about, and it’s up to her pro-choice fans to decide whether that’s something they can live with as they continue to support her career going forward.
