With over 30 Duggar grandchildren so far, it would be more surprising if there wasn’t an overlap in names or nicknames somewhere in the family tree. And unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened to Jinger and Joy-Anna Duggar when they each welcomed their second child, both girls, right around the same time. Now the sisters admit that there was a bit of “drama” over the situation, and it seems like it would have been at least a little awkward for them to handle.

Jinger and Joy’s daughters are close in age.
Jinger’s daughter, Evangeline, and Joy’s daughter, Evelyn, are both 4 years old, and they both go by the nickname “Evy” – something that Jinger’s husband Jeremy said brought up “some drama” when Joy appeared on the couple’s podcast this week.
“We’ve had two people in the last week like be like, ‘Oh there’s two Evys!’ Because especially when we get when we’re together we get asked,” Joy said on The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast.
Neither sister knew the other was planning to use that nickname for her daughter.
Because they didn’t share the names they’d chosen for their babies until after they were born, the coincidence came as a surprise.
“Y’all kept your Evy, her name was a secret until she was born and she was born about six months before our Evy,” Jinger explained. “When she was born you sent a video to the family, and you said, … ‘First we’re going to tell you the nickname name. It’s Evy,'”
Jeremy said when they got the video, he and Jinger “looked at each other, like ‘Oh my goodness.'”

The good news: No one was upset about it.
“We did not care at all, but I do remember y’all calling me and I was like, ‘That’s so great. It’s going to be confusing, but it’s going to be awesome,'” Joy-Anna said.
Considering that this could cause a major argument between siblings in a lot of families, it’s good to hear that wasn’t the case this time.
Soon, Jinger will join her sister in becoming a mom of three.
With Jinger’s baby boy due to arrive soon, she and Joy-Anna will have one more thing in common with each other (Joy has three children herself: Gideon, Evelyn, and Gunner).
Fortunately, they’re probably safe from any surprise nickname overlaps this time!
