Video of Jennifer Lopez’s Mom Reacting to Idea of her Getting Back With Diddy Resurfaces

When it came to the idea of dating Sean “Diddy” Combs again, Jennifer Lopez’s mom wasn’t too fond about her daughter getting reinvolved with the rapper. In a video from nearly a decade ago, Guadalupe Rodríguez showed a strong disapproval of J.Lo possibly going back down that path. Following the mogul’s arrest on September 17, 2024, Jennifer’s 2015 appearance on The Wendy Williams Show started recirculating online. During the episode, Wendy told the singer, “I could always see you getting back with Puffy in a little way.”

This was her mom's reaction.

Throwing her head back in laughter, Jennifer recalled Wendy previously mentioning the proposition.  “I remember you said that,” she said to the talk show host, while members of the audience cheered in support of the idea. Upon pointing at her mother, however, J.Lo revealed at least one person wasn’t too fond of it. Guadalupe made a dismissive hand motion, appearing to say, “It’s done.”

J.Lo commented on the audience's reactions.

“It’s crazy, everybody came alive,” Jennifer said of the audience’s reaction. “They all had something to say.” Wendy responded, “Everybody has an opinion,” to which the singer noted was funny. She went on to make her stance on the idea clear by saying, “No Puffy.”

J.Lo's team may have hired private investigators to follow Diddy.

According to Gene Deal, a former celebrity bodyguard, Diddy was once being followed by private investigators while with J.Lo. In an interview on The Art Of Dialogue podcast, he said, “Either somebody hired private eyes to follow us on behalf of Jennifer Lopez, or she did,” he said.

Gene went on to say that Guadalupe never accepted anything from Diddy, not even gifts. “If she needed air to breathe she wouldn’t even take his last breath.”

Guadalupe's dislike for the rapper has been known for years.

J.Lo and Diddy dated between 1999 and 2001. In December 1999, the singer was with him when shots were fired inside a nightclub in Times Square. The two left the scene, getting caught up in a police chase that ended with them being arrested. In an interview with the New York Post, former NYPD Detective Derrick Parker remembers a furious Guadalupe showing up at the police station. “Her mother was yelling at J.Lo in Spanish and she was really mad at Jennifer,” the former detective said. “I heard her say, ‘I told you not to get involved with (him).’”

Diddy was recently arrested.

Diddy was arrested on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution, MSNBC reported. He has pleaded not guilty and was denied bail. If convicted, he faces life in prison.
