John Stamos Says He Got the Olsen Twins Fired From ‘Full House’: ‘I Can’t Work Like This’

Have you ever had a day so bad that you got a baby fired? John Stamos has! The Full House alum recently confessed to having an on-set meltdown while filming with costar Dave Coulier and twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, demanding that the then 11-month-olds be fired from the series — and all we can say is, you're in big trouble, mister!

While on a podcast, John confessed to his bad behavior.

The 59-year-old shared the story while appearing on Monday's episode of the Good Guys. He recalled how the little girls — who took turns playing the role of Michelle Tanner — were upset after being subjected to several takes where they were rinsed off in a sink.

He was tasked with holding the girls as Dave helped wrap them up.

"I think I was holding her under the armpits and Dave was holding her little feet and we take her in the kitchen and we hose her down," John explained, adding that they then put a fan on the girls and wrapped them up in paper towels.

Obviously, the little ones were unhappy and showed their displeasure by screaming at the actors.

Eventually, it all came to a boiling point and John says he lost his temper.

John said the girls wanted to be anywhere but in that kitchen with him and Dave. "They were 11-months-old, God bless them," he recalled, adding how they kept switching the sisters out.

"I couldn’t deal with it," he continued. "I said, 'This is not gonna work, guys.' I screamed at them, 'Get rid of them. I can't work like this.'"

Get rid of them they did, and a fresh set of twins were brought in … but John eventually had a problem with them, too.

The new twins were brought in, but then John had a change of heart.

As fans know, Mary-Kate and Ashley became household names after appearing on the show. So what happened to make John have a change of heart? Apparently he wasn't a fan of their replacements.

"They brought on these two red-headed kids," he explained. "I'm sure their parents loved them and thought they were attractive. It had nothing to do with them being red-headed … but they weren't attractive."

We wonder what Mary-Kate and Ashley think of this news.

When asked whether the girls had ever found out that he had them canned, John explained that they would after listening to the podcast.

We're sure John learned how to interact with young children over the eight seasons of the show, but it's clear he had a lot to learn about babies and toddlers in the beginning.

At least he knew the ropes by the time he and wife Caitlin McHugh welcomed their now 5-year-old son. We're willing to bet John never tried to hose him down in the kitchen with nothing but a fan and some paper towels by his side!
