People Joke They Can’t Tell Melania Trump Apart From Her Robot

On the second day of the Fostering the Future Together summit that Melania Trump gave opening remarks for, she arrived in full force with a robot. Yes, that’s right, an AI-powered robot that is apparently here to help children and totally not steal jobs from actual human beings. The real kicker is that some of Donald Trump’s supporters actually love the idea of a “non-woke” educator teaching their children. But a robot? Is that really where we’re at?

The summit is all about bringing education and tech together for the sake of the future. The future, of course, being children. But when clips of Melania with her I, Robot-style robotic companion arriving went viral on X, a lot of users made fun of Melania’s resemblance to the android.

Melania Trump really strolled in with that AI-powered robot.

When Melania walked in with a robot and declared that AI-powered physical robots are the future of technology, it was like something out of a sci-fi movie. Except in this case, everyone else is pretty powerless to stop whatever this technological boom is, and Melania seems determined to make sure it happens. Because, for some sudden inexplicable reason, Melania is all about AI and robots.

“The future of AI is personified,” Melania said at the summit, per Fox News. “It will be formed in the shape of humans. Very soon, artificial intelligence will move from our mobile phones to humanoids that deliver utility. Since our environment is designed for people, humanoid systems are uniquely suited to navigate and operate within our world. They fit well.”

The “humanoid” walked around the room and actually spoke about being part of Melania’s efforts to improve education for children. With an AI robot. I mean, we’ve all seen this movie. We know how it ends. And it isn’t lost on people how robotic Melania sometimes appears to be herself.

“Two peas in a pod,” someone responded to the X post.

“Which is which?” Another wrote. OK, that was an easy dig, but it had to be said.

Someone else wrote, “They look so much alike & act the same. Can’t tell who is who, it’s crazy.”

“A robot enters the room with a robot,” an X user added.

The so-called “humanoid” walks and talks in a way that suggests some kind of human-like behavior. And, in the Will Smith movie I, Robot, viewers saw the same thing. In the movie, the robots took over, and the world became desperate and horrifying, though, so let’s not forget that part. Now, after Melania and her White House humanoid entered the summit together, people are calling out the similarities between real life and the movie.

“Almost looks like ‘Sonny’ from the Will Smith movie I, Robot!” Someone wrote on X in response to another post about the robot and Melania. “The tech/AI boom happening now is nothing short of amazing — hopefully Congress will pass AI legislation that protects USA’s innovative edge while also protecting Americans. It’s a tough needle to thread.”

Melania said robots will be used to teach children.

Melania’s opening remarks and other speeches at the summit were about the future of children and education. Once we get past Melania’s inability to convey actual emotion to an audience, the big issue that many have is the idea of potentially taking teachers’ jobs from them for the sake of promoting AI and, it seems, robots. Like, what?

Someone pointed out on X, “The irony is that this would cost more than paying teachers a living wage.”

“The irony of doing a speech about empowering children while walking out with the technology that is going to make it impossible to find a job,” another shared.
