It's hard to believe that the sextuplets we met on Jon & Kate Plus 8 so long ago are all grown up and have graduated high school, but they're all starting their new lives, including Collin Gosselin. And apparently, he's making dad Jon Gosselin very proud in the process. In a new interview, Jon shared an update on Collin, who is now at boot camp after enlisting with the US military and has started this big new chapter in his life as an adult. Where did the time go?!

Collin enlisted in the Marines and headed to boot camp after graduation.
According to what Jon told Entertainment Tonight, it doesn't surprise him one bit that he decided to follow this path.
"Collin's super independent, so he lived on his own a little bit during high school like he just wanted to experience that. [Then] he enlisted at 18 and he left when he was 19, [and] I think it taught him to grow up a lot faster," he said.
Now, he's at boot camp at Parris Island.
Even though basic training is keeping him very busy, Collin still has time to stay in touch with his dear old dad, who he writes letters to.
"He's doing super well he just talks about like training … He said he doesn't really have time to do anything [else]," Jon shared. "It's very, like, at 4 a.m. they get up, they do PT, they go eat, then they go study, classroom, then they eat, then PT, you know? It's what he's always wanted to do."
Collin graduated from high school in June.
Collin, along with the rest of his sextuplet siblings (including sister Hannah, who also lived with Jon), graduated earlier this summer, and though he's now enjoying his new adventure, Jon is still hoping it'll bring him back to Pennsylvania one day.
"I think we built a good solid foundation for Collin to go into the Marines and now he knows he has a strong support system at home," the proud dad said. "He has good friends that back him up so that he can fulfill his dream of being a Marine and still come home."
Meanwhile, Jon has been trying to help Collin along the way.
That includes sending him gift cards so he can go shopping for anything he needs, but Jon said Collin won't be able to do that until he's well into training. It was only recently that Jon and his new girlfriend, Stephanie Lebo, took their relationship public, but she wasn't shy about bragging about Collin to ET, either.
"I mean, he brings flowers and he loves that his dad is happy, so it allows them to be happier," she said.

It sounds like this has been a great experience for Collin.
And though there's no doubt that Jon misses him, it also seems there's no doubt that he's very proud of who his son is growing up to be — not that we would have expected anything less. Good luck at boot camp, Collin!
