After emails and phone calls from when Joseph Duggar was in jail were released to the public, people began to wonder about Josh Duggar‘s correspondences with his family after his federal prison sentencing. Now, according to Reddit, there are some leaked emails from Josh that throw his parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, under the bus.
Elsewhere on Reddit, there are other allegedly leaked emails from and to Josh while he has been in prison. One of the emails is from his wife, Anna Duggar, on their anniversary. Another one is from Josh to Anna and goes into detail about how Josh believes his family sees him in light of his guilty conviction from 2021. If these emails are the real deal, they are truly piping hot tea in Duggar World.
He spills serious tea about what his parents think about Anna Duggar.
In the leaked email from Josh to his parents, he tells Jim Bob and Michelle that they are trying to make themselves look better and that they don’t truly understand what he has “been through since his conviction. He also urges his parents, in all caps mind you, to stop talking about him on the news and in the press in general.
“You continue to talk about how you forgive others and try not to be bitter, yet you constantly are putting me down,” Josh wrote in the email to his parents. “Not just this situation, I’m talking years of it. Do you think it’s helping me? Does it help you? Does it help the ‘spirit’ of our family? When I try to bring this up, or ANY criticism of Pops and Mom, they immediately point to my bad choices in life and then defend themselves. REALLY? You accuse Anna of doing this most of the time and you call her the ‘most bitter person you know’ etc.”
Surprisingly, the responses on Reddit are in favor of Anna, mostly because the alternative would be to defend Josh, and that’s a no-go.
“I despise Anna but I think she has every right to be bitter with how her life has turned out, and JB&M should be forever apologetic to her for how they raised her husband to be the sack of s–t he is today,” one Reddit commented.
However, another user wrote, “I think she’s bitter for the wrong reasons. She thinks he’s innocent and a golden boy and his parents aren’t nice enough to him, according to her emails.”
His siblings apparently avoid him.
According to the email Josh allegedly wrote to his parents, he didn’t hear from most of his siblings much upon his incarceration.
“I have got only one message from my siblings since I got here,” Josh wrote. “Sad.” He also wrote that “one’s situation or decision should not determine how we interact or reach out in love.”
And, for those who are unsure if the leaked emails are legitimate, some Reddit users believe the emails are legitimate, simply because of the way Josh wrote to his family. Longtime 19 Kids and Counting viewers know him well enough to know if something is written in his specific voice.
“This is written with so much ‘zest’ that there’s no way anyone other than Josh wrote it,” someone commented on the post. “Looks legit to me.”
A letter from Anna also shows how they see Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.
On another Reddit post with other emails to and from Josh, there is an email Josh allegedly sent to Anna and one she sent to him for their anniversary. Anna mentioned how Josh tries to please Jim Bob but how it’s a pointless task, at least at this point. Which, again, is pretty hot tea, considering the Duggar family usually presents itself as a united front with God-fearing kids and adult children.
“You are striving so much to please your dad. It’s a dead-end road,” Anna wrote. “And you keep trying. I hope you will come to a place where you can understand that God created you in HIS image. Let go of being a ‘Duggar’ and whatever that means in your mind. Focus on how amazing the God who created the universe is. He created you. He has a plan for your life. He promises if you need wisdom, ask for it, and he will give it generously! Learn to hear his voice! The voices of your dad, your brother-in-laws and your siblings have been primarily negative since you were 10 years old.”
