Josh Duggar Reveals His Family Has Stopped Sending Him Money in Prison

There’s no doubt that prison was never going to be a walk in the park for Josh Duggar, but it sounds like his experience has gotten even worse in recent months. According to court documents obtained by The Sun, not only has Josh run out of money, but his family has stopped refilling his account so that he can make purchases from the prison commentary. Has Jim Bob and Michelle‘s support finally run dry?

Josh has continued to fight his prison sentence.

Josh was sentenced to more than 12 years behind bars after he was convicted of possessing and receiving child sexual assault material in December 2021. He has been fighting his conviction ever since, but so far, his appeals have all been unsuccessful, and in June 2024, the Supreme Court denied Josh’s request to hear his case.

He didn’t give up, though, and the court later denied his request for a lawyer — and his most recent appeals. Now, Josh is moving forward while representing himself in court.

He’s officially out of money — and even in a bit of debt.

In paperwork that Josh filed in April that was obtained by The Sun, he stated that he had just 22 cents in his prison bank account and was two cents in debt and had no financial assets.

“Movant currently performs a prison work assignment but does not receive any pay for compensation. Therefore, Movant has no employment income to report,” read the paperwork. “Movant currently has no personal or real property possessions in his ownership.”

At the time, he also stated his family had not sent him money.

The paperwork also claimed that Josh “occasionally receives money from family and friends, but has not during the reporting time for this request.” Because of that, he said he was “entitled to relief” that could possibly be provided to him by the court.

It’s interesting to hear that the well has run dry — Jim Bob and Michelle have always seemed pretty supportive of Josh, so what changed?

His wife has found her own way of making money.

Josh may be destitute in prison, but it sounds like his wife, Anna, isn’t letting the same thing happen to her. Her dog breeding business, Golden Grove Pups, is off and running, and earlier this month, her daughters Madyson and Maryella appeared in a video promoting the puppies who are up for grabs.

Is Anna sending him any of her earnings now that she has some? At this point, it sounds like things could play out a number of ways for Josh …
