Joy-Anna Duggar & Austin Forsyth Slammed for Bringing 1-Week-Old Baby on Anniversary Date

Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth have celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary in a pretty unconventional way. Unfortunately for the new parents, they had an extra guest along for their date this year: their 1-week-old newborn. The choice to bring their little one along has left fans questioning how much fun the anniversary could've been for Joy, who was tasked with caring for the couple's new baby the whole time.

She shared her anniversary memories with her fans over the holiday weekend, posting two since-expired photos to her account.

The U.S. Sun published the images from her Instagram Stories, which included a photo of a smiling Joy holding the couple's new baby, Gunner, as she posed in front of a dessert plate that had "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY" written on it.

Her husband appeared in another one of the photos.

A decidedly less cheerful looking Austin appeared in another photo, which Joy captioned "Impatiently waiting for his food …"

Fans couldn't help but notice a few problems with the couple's night out, which they wasted no time sharing on Reddit. It appears people weren't pleased with Joy and Austin's decision to bring their new baby along for the date.

Redditors blasted the couple for having a 1-week-old baby out and about.

There was no shortage of criticism over the couple's decision to drag their newborn to a public place.

"Ok but why are we taking our week-old newborn out in public," one Redditor asked.

Another commenter chastised Austin, assuming he was behind the anniversary celebration. "I just had my second baby 2.5 months ago and the last thing I wanted to do at like 1 week [postpartum] was get dressed up and go out to dinner," the person wrote.

People didn't think bringing the baby was fair to Joy.

It looks like Joy was the one tasked with tending to Gunner all night, which made many Reddit users angry.

"I'm sure she held him the entire time too," one Redditor wrote. "I seriously doubt that Austin would hold him so she could eat without a baby in her lap."

Another person shared a personal experience. "I love my baby but I honestly hate going out to restaurants with him," the person posted. "I spend half the time entertaining him and trying to attend to his needs in between bites. It's miserable."

Joy seemed like she was enjoying herself.

It's hard to get a full picture of what went down that night based on the two photos, but the one of Joy seems to show a new mama who is just happy to be out of the house.

Hopefully Austin gifted Joy some time by taking the night shift that evening so the newly minted mother of three was able to get some sleep. We're sure she's exhausted these days!
