Amid Joseph Duggar’s arrest and the uncertainty regarding his wife Kendra Duggar’s charges and their children, Joseph’s sister Joy-Anna Duggar has found the time to post her to-do list on Instagram. And, well, it’s a doozy. She has some items checked off, while others remain unaccomplished so far. But what people are talking about is the content of the list.
From homeschooling to praising God through songs, Joy-Anna has a full schedule, apparently. But when the list was shared to Reddit, people quickly shared their thoughts about what she needs to get done and what she has already finished up. All while her family is at the center of yet another controversy.
Joy-Anna Duggar apparently can’t find the joy in the little things.
In the to-do list that was shared on Reddit, Joy-Anna listed homeschooling with her kids, washing sheets and doing laundry, getting her groceries delivered, going to the bank, making an ENT appointment, filming an ad, and getting a car wash as all checked off tasks. Do we even need to go into “filming an ad”? It does pass for a Duggar job these days, with the amount of grifting the adult kids tend to do.
But what Joy-Anna has not checked off are, cleaning bathrooms, putting away laundry and doing dishes, praising God through music, and, oddly enough, finding the joy in the little things. That last bit had some Duggar snarkers on Reddit a little confused because shouldn’t that be one of the first things she does as a devout Christian stay-at-home mom and wife?
“Her not yet finding joy in the little things is slaying me,” someone commented on the Reddit thread.
“Mother is struggling to find joy in the little things,” another wrote.
Someone else added, “Literally the concept of being able to check ‘finding joy’ off a list is sending me. Also in creating her list that task occurred to her about halfway through.”
And the pun of “finding joy” and being named Joy-Anna is not lost on people. Still, one person wrote, “She should be writing ‘find myself.’ Not only because of the pun, but because she honestly needs to do some soul-searching lol.”
But don’t worry, because another commenter figured out a way for Joy-Anna to find the joy she is seeking, even with her brother Josh Duggar in prison and her other brother, Joseph Duggar, facing charges related to child molestation.
“Finding joy in the little things,” they commented. “Like, only two of my brothers will be in prison, the majority will not. Praise Jesus.”
She also hasn’t found the time to praise God through music.
The inability to find the time to “praise him through song” is another wild task that people talked about in the Reddit thread. Sure, it isn’t outright praying, but, being a Godly woman from an upbringing with an emphasis on praying about literally everything, you’d think Joy-Anna would be quick to find the time to praise God by singing or through music in some other way.
“It’s 11:59 p.m. and you’re suddenly woken out of a dead sleep ’cause your wife is yodelling to Jesus ’cause she forgot during the day and has to get it in,” a user commented on the thread, in response to that specific item on Joy-Anna’s to-do list.
It’s also a little surprising for some that Joy-Anna has so many tasks on her list that don’t really have much to do with one another.
“Something about the car wash to praise Him transition has killed me lol,” another user commented.
Her homeschool schedule might be a response to Kendra Duggar’s homeschool methods.
There is plenty to unpack about Joy-Anna’s to-do list. But another part that has people raising at least one eyebrow is her item about homeschooling her kids. According to the Instagram gossip account Without a Crystal Ball, Kendra was accused of neglecting her children despite the belief being that they were being homeschooled by her.
Whether or not there is any truth to this rumor, Joy-Anna’s timing of her to-do list that mentions homeschooling her kids is a little suspect. Could it be a way to prove that, despite allegations against Joseph and Kendra, she is still dutifully homeschooling her own kids? It’s possible.
