After being married for nearly 30 years, Julie Chrisley and her husband, Todd Chrisley, likely have very few secrets between them — and she’s not afraid to tell anyone who wants to know. On this week’s episode of their new reality series, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, Julie opened up about a rumor that has plagued their family over the past few years, leading people to question whether or not Todd is gay.
The rumors began when Todd and Julie were on trial.
During the court case that eventually led to Todd and Julie’s prison sentences, one of his former business associates, Mark Braddock, claimed that he and Todd had been engaged in a secret affair for about a year. Mark also said that when someone anonymously texted him to threaten to spread the word of their affair publicly, Todd allegedly gave him $38,000 to pay the anonymous person off. Once their affair ended, Mark said, he and Todd simply agreed to remain friends.
Todd has shut this rumor down multiple times in the past, including when he appeared on Kandi Burruss’ podcast last month. “He said it was a one-time thing, thinks it was an experiment,” he said at the time. “You ain’t experimenting on s—! You know what you’re doing.”
Julie had the perfect response.
On this week’s episode of the family’s new reality show, she shared her response to the rumors, and it doesn’t sound like she’s letting herself lose any sleep over it all. “I know who I’m married to,” she said.
Julie added, “At the end of the day, OK. You can think whatever you want of him because he knows who he is.”
Todd talked about the rumors on the show, too.
Todd also addressed Mark’s accusations on the show, pointing out that he’s the “only one” who has ever made claims against Todd of this nature.
“It’s important to understand that in the position that we’re in, scandal sells,” he said.
It sounds like no one in the family is too concerned about the story that Mark has been trying to sell, Julie included.
