Kai Trump Faces Criticism Over TikTok Video Amid Ongoing Global Tensions

What’s a girl going to do when the rest of the country is in turmoil and the United States has dipped its toes in an Iranian war it has no business being part of? Make content for social media, of course. And when it comes to Kai Trump, despite Donald Trump being her grandpa, it isn’t that wild of an idea for the 18-year-old high school senior to make TikTok and YouTube videos with meaningless subjects.

But because she is Trump’s granddaughter, people expect more of Kai, and she has to get that on some level. So when she posted a TikTok of herself lip syncing to the ABBA song “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight),” critics were quick to call her out. Some even used the opportunity to urge her to join the military and fight for her country. I mean, that bit is probably pointless, but Kai’s countless haters are gonna hate.

Kai Trump once again fails to have some tact when it comes to content creation.

In the TikTok which was also shared to X, Kai dances a bit and lip syncs to the camera. In the TikTok caption, she wrote, “The greatest movie ever,” presumably in reference to Mamma Mia! which features the ABBA song. But the idea behind the song, of the singer looking for a man, has people tying its message to Kai. And if Kai is making videos about wanting a guy while a whole war is going on in Iran, well, it’s a bit much for some.

It’s giving “Kim, there’s people that are dying” when Kim Kardashian cried about a lost diamond earring during an early season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Before this, Kai came under fire for making a video of herself shopping at Erehwon with the Secret Service. For those who aren’t familiar, Erehwon is like Whole Foods, but far more expensive and elite.

Kai’s video of herself lip syncing is another strike against her where some of the Trump family’s critics are concerned. Sure, she’s a teenager, and to some, kids should be off limits. But to others, she’s 18 and she could technically be part of the military that Trump is sending to Iran, so, you know, there’s that.

Donald Trump critics jumped on the chance to criticize her for it.

On X, users slammed Kai for her video. Some criticized her just for being related to Trump. Others pointed out her poor timing. The user who shared the video from TikTok to X wrote, “Instead of Kai Trump posting about looking for a man…perhaps she should be looking to enlist to fight in Iran.”

“You know you’re Donald Trump’s granddaughter when he’s launching World War III and you’re dancing online,” someone responded to the X post.

“The entitlement and arrogance of her reeks,” someone else commented. “She’s not as ‘all that’ as she thinks she is, which is typical of every Trump. Sad.”

Another user wrote, “There’s something fundamentally degenerate about the Trumps and it runs in their DNA.”

Kai has become known for making videos at the worst times.

From her Erehwon video to the ABBA lip syncing one, and plenty of others, Kai’s content creation has been a bit of an issue for those who oppose Trump as the president. It’s not totally clear if they would rather have Kai make more serious content and address serious issues in the world, but that doesn’t seem to be her goal at all.

In the video before the ABBA one on TikTok, Kai posted an ‘outfit of the day’ check with a caption about the summer arriving soon. On the one hand, it is very 18-year-old-coded. On the other hand, people don’t love that Kai completely ignores everything else going on in the world. But such is the life of a billionaire Trump.
