What to Know
There’s no way Kai Trump thought no one would notice when she posted a clip on Instagram from the NBA Finals game she attended with her grandfather, Donald Trump, and changed the audio…right? Because that’s the only explanation for the audio in her clip, and people quickly sounded off in the comments under the Instagram post.
Kai is not above gassing her grandpa up, and they do seem to have a solid relationship. Trump took her to the game with him, and they are often seen golfing together. Trump also often speaks highly of his eldest granddaughter. But when Kai posted a clip from the Knicks vs. Spurs game that she attended with Trump, she seemingly changed the audio to make her grandpa seem like more of a hero and less of a heel.
The audio did not sound like that in other clips of Donald Trump from the NBA Finals game.
By now, we’ve all seen the video of Trump getting booed while at Madison Square Garden for game three of the 2026 NBA Playoffs. There is a shot of Trump in his private suite where he and Kai, along with close business associates, are watching the game behind bulletproof glass. As they watch the Star Spangled Banner on the court below, the camera shows Trump, likely on a screen for the other attendees.
There are some clear boos, followed by eventual cheers. Kai even looks uncomfortable behind Trump at first, because the discontent among people in the crowds around and below them is hard to totally ignore. But when kai posted the video, there was a big difference. In her video, everything looks the same, but all you hear are excited cheers for Trump.
In the caption, Kai wrote, “Thank you to 15SOF for capturing this special moment with my Grandpa.”
People quickly roasted her in the comments. She barely disguised the fact that the video is a total edit of the original cringe video of her grandfather getting booed.
“Changing the audio is wild though,” someone wrote.
Another person commented, “had to change the audio because you know nobody likes your grandpa. I’d cry.”
“Editing the boos out is crazy work,” a user also added.
People couldn’t stop talking about Trump being booed.

When Trump was booed at the game, it was one of the highlights of Trump being there. The boos might not be totally obvious, but it’s clear from the noise in the crowds that not everyone was happy to see Trump at the game. It does make sense, then, for Kai to edit out that part of the audio, or to have a company do it for her.
But it also points to the boos at Trump in a larger way. No one remembers the game the way it’s presented in Kai’s Instagram video. She might have been better off sharing a different clip, because, as one person put it in the comments, “Changing the audio to give a positive appearance is irresponsible.”
Kai Trump used an AI company for her post.
The company that Kai referenced in her caption, 15SOF, is called 15 Seconds of Fame. It’s an AI app that makes personalized clips from different events and allows users to upload them. In this case, apparently, the personalized clip is for Kai to make it seem like everyone loves her grandpa a lot more than they do. Yikes.
