Being a parent in the public eye has to be really tough. Anything you do or don’t do is dissected on social media. Sometimes it’s warranted, and sometimes it’s not. Kailyn Lowry, who grew to fame on Teen Mom 2, isn’t new to being in the public eye and navigating all those opinions.
The most recent example stems from a short clip the mom of four shared on TikTok that’s gone viral.
On March 3, Kailyn posted a video of her youngest son, 2-year-old Creed, on her TikTok account that many say is addressing a rumor that’s been circulating.
The rumor alleges Kailyn welcomed a secret fifth child in November, joining 13-year-old Isaac, 9-year-old Lincoln, 5-year-old Lux, and Creed. And people think the new video might be a response to that rumor.
In the clip, Kailyn asks Creed about his siblings.
“How many brothers do you have now?” Kailyn can be heard saying on a video featuring Creed.
The little guy pauses for a second to think about the question his mom asked before he starts counting.
"Two … three … four … too f—ing many,” Creed answers back.
The video went viral with nearly 2 million views, and it got a lot of hate.
On TikTok more than 2,600 comments were left that ranged from people thinking it was hilarious that her son said a curse word to people calling the whole video bad parenting.
“It’s the “to f—ing many in his raspy voice for me!!!,” one commenter shared.
“side eye at the end,” wrote another person. “This is great.”
Although some positive comments were left on the TikTok video, Redditors weren’t as kind.
The clip of Creed made its way to a popular Reddit community featuring Teen Mom, and people there were more critical of the video.
“Gross. Even grosser because he didn't say it out of nowhere, she cut the video and TOLD him to say it,” one person wrote on the thread. “Does she think we are dumb? Does she think telling a baby to curse and posting it is just HIGH LARIOUS? you are trash kale you belong in a cave.”
“You can very clearly hear Kail telling him what to say,” someone else wrote. “Just seems fake and trashy. You know she thought to herself ‘the internet will think MY kids are so funny, original, and edgy if I can make them think he said this all on his own!’”
“Okay, this is really gross. I do not understand why a parent would coach their child to say this and then post it on SM,” questioned someone else. “So weird. And weird that she's asking him how many brothers he has, since she's been insulting people who ask if there's a new baby! It's such a desperate dance for attention.”
“Yeah she coached him to say that, now trashy,” and “Little babies cussing is CRINGEY,” others added.
It’s not clear if this was Kailyn’s way of addressing the rumors that she has another secret baby or if she was just having a little fun.
