Teen Mom star Kailyn Lowry has been under a spotlight for the past decade after first appearing on Teen Mom 2, MTV's reality TV show that followed the new moms from 16 and Pregnant.
With this, Kailyn is used to having some level of critics who question her decisions. And that attention hasn't died down, as is evident by a new controversy that has critics calling her parenting decisions into question.
Kailyn is active on social media, and a recent photo share has caught the attention of critics.
On Instagram, the mom of seven shared a photo of two of her kids, 3-year-old Creed and 13-year-old Isaac.
The two boys were sitting on the bed and playing with Spider Man toys together.
There wasn't really anything strange about the photo.
It's nice to see the two siblings hanging out, especially because they have a big age gap it's not always easy to find things to connect over.
But these two were having fun playing with an original Spider-Man and a Miles Morales version.
But eagle-eyed critics noticed something else.
Critics zeroed in on an earring that 3-year-old Creed had in his ear. On Reddit's popular r/TeenMomOGandTeenMom2 community, people picked apart the photo and questioned Kailyn's parenting.
"Anyone else think its a bit cruel," one person wrote.
" yikes," another wrote.
"That is wild. Ear lobes are not known to get rejected (aside from allergies)," someone else added.
"I still think it's so weird to see children with holes in their body when they can't really consent," another person chimed in.
"The piercing is gonna move and eventually either reject or be super crooked," another critic added.
"Earrings are cute, but I feel like they should be reserved for an older age," commented another person.
Someone else wrote: "Let your kids up for success. Let them at lease be old enough to have a little perspective if they want this. To me it’s a parent/parents making a decision for a kid that should be the kid’s decision. A 3 year old will ask for all kinds of stuff."
There were others who didn't take the piercing too seriously.

"I guess it's personal preference but many pierce ears early where I'm from in the US. It's the very least thing I'd judge Kail for," one person wrote.
"Whether you agree with it or not, it is common," added someone else, "so, I am not gonna diss Kail or Chris or Elijah or whoever is that kid's father."
"This is like one of the lesser objectionable s— she does as a parent," another commenter shared.
It's not likely Kailyn is going to respond to the critics. She's been around enough to know it's not worth her time to care what others think about her.
