Kailyn Lowry said goodbye to Teen Mom a while ago, but her reality TV career may not be over just yet – especially if her oldest son, 15-year-old Isaac Elliott Rivera, has anything to say about it. During an appearance on the Give Them Lala podcast, Kail told host Lala Kent that her family has another show in the works, this time totally focused on her son and his journey, rather than hers as a mom.
Elliott has been making headlines of his own recently.
Last month, Elliott appeared on mom Kail’s Barely Famous podcast to share some important updates. Not only did he come out as part of the LGBTQ community, but he also let the world know that he prefers to go by his middle name, Elliott, these days.
“I’m [coming out] for me, so you can do what he want,” he said on the podcast. “If you feel it’s necessary to come out, then do it. But if you don’t, then just be yourself. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone, so just be who you are and be true to yourself.”
He may be the subject of a new reality series.
During her appearance on the podcast, Kail revealed that she and her family are “in works with another production company” for a new show that would “be told through Isaac’s eyes.”
There’s no word on the more specific details of the potential series, but she did add that this could help her son achieve his goal of doing things his own way and keeping himself separate from MTV’s Teen Mom franchise.
He has his mom’s support.
According to what Kailyn told Lala, it sounds like she’s totally supportive of Elliott embarking on this new journey.
“I think it would be cool because it would tell his story,” she said. “Some of the babies from Teen Mom have been on TV for all 16 years but I think Isaac does have a lot to share, and there are a lot unique circumstances in our family because I do have four fathers to my children, and I‘m neighbors with one of them, so there’s a lot of stuff going on.”
The show is still up in the air, though.
Kail also pointed out that nothing is set in stone at this point – and the show could still end up never seeing the light of day.
“With production and TV, you can be under contract, they can buy a concept, they can buy a pilot. They can do all of this stuff and it never happens. So that’s sort of where we’re at,” she explained.
We’ll just have to stay tuned for more updates from Kail, but it sounds like this could be a pretty neat opportunity for Elliott as he spreads his wings a bit.
