After seven years of marriage and four children together, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West went their separate ways in 2021. But according to what the rapper said in a controversial new interview, if he had it his way, that life would have never existed, and instead, he would have chosen to never have children with Kim in the first place.
Ye shared his thoughts in a bizarre interview with podcaster DJ Akademiks that went live on Sunday. Not only did Ye dress in an all-black hood and robe that looks similar to the white ensembles infamously worn by the Klu Klux Klan, but he also didn’t shy away from discussing his ex and their kids.
When Akademiks pointed out that he “picked” Kim to marry and procreate with, Ye didn’t try to deny it, but he did say it wasn’t how he intended for things to play out.
“Absolutely, I did. That was my fault. No, that was my fault,” he said during the interview, per US Weekly. “I didn’t want to have children with this person after the first two months of being with them, but that wasn’t God’s plan.”
Regardless of how Ye might have felt in the beginning of their relationship, he ultimately had four children with Kim: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. Later in the interview, he also said that he doesn’t believe he has enough say in how they’re raised.
“I don’t got the name or likeness ownership, or at least 50-50, with my kids. So how is it joint custody? My kids are celebrities and I don’t have a say.”
Meanwhile, an insider told RadarOnline.com that Kim is so “petrified and furious” about Ye’s recent behavior that she’s preparing for a major legal battle with her ex.
“In light of recent developments, it has become clear that Kanye’s behavior has spiraled to a level that is no longer sustainable for Kim and their children,” the source said. “The decision to involve legal counsel underscores the severity of their situation and the urgency with which Kim feels she must act to protect their family.”
At this point, Kim wants to shield her kids from as much “turmoil” as possible, and she reportedly feels the best way to do that is by putting as much distance between them and their dad as she can right now.
