In 2022, Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson broke up after nine months of dating, which was surprising, considering how well things seemed to be going at the time. But now, it sounds like there might be more to the story. What we do know is that Kim and Pete ended things on good terms; she even praised her ex-boyfriend when speaking to Interview magazine just a month after their split, saying, “they don’t really make them like him anymore.”
While there’s been some speculation about what exactly caused the exes to part ways, a recent report suggests that Kim’s ex-husband Kanye West played a significant role.

Pete reportedly didn't want to deal with the negative attention he got for dating Kim — especially from Ye.
Kim started dating Pete shortly after she filed for divorce from Ye, and a source recently told In Touch that Ye “absolutely sabotaged” his ex’s first solid relationship after their marriage ended. After Ye criticized and threatened Pete, the Saturday Night Live star “took that very seriously,” the source alleged.
“[Pete] was terrified day and night after that,” the insider claimed. “He could hardly sleep and anywhere he went outside the house he felt unsafe.”
Dating Kim came with a lot of scrutiny in general.
Threatening behavior from Ye aside, Pete reportedly didn’t appreciate the amount of attention he got while dating Kim. The In Touch source said Pete “didn’t end it because he wasn’t into her anymore, but because he “simply could not handle the level of scrutiny and insane stress that came with dating her.”

Previously, Kim hinted at the impact Ye's social media posts had on Pete.
In May 2023, Kim addressed her breakup during a confessional interview on The Kardashians. She said though the situation was “obviously sad,” but she and Pete both communicated openly.
“We just had talks and talks, we had been talking about it,” she said at the time. “So it was both of us just communicating really well about it.”
She seemed to reference Ye’s social posts that targeted Pete as well. “There was a lot of guilt [Pete] went through a lot because of my relationship [with Ye],” Kim said.
Initially, when Kim and Pete broke up, a source said they made the decision due to their 'busy schedules.'
“They both travel all the time and it was hard,” a source previously told People. Sources have said both Kim and Pete were upset about the breakup, but according to the In Touch insider, Pete might still have some lingering feelings for Kim. “Pete is looking back and wishing things could have been different,” the source claimed.
Kim later acknowledged that she jumped into a new relationship too quickly after her split from Ye. “It got my mind away from stuff and that’s not a way to run from things,” she previously said on The Kardashians.
The exes reportedly still talk to each other.
Though Kim and Pete are no longer together, they’re reportedly still in touch, a source told People in October 2024. The insider said that Pete is “still friends with pretty much all his exes,” including Kim.
“He and Kim still talk occasionally. He’s a good guy, and they root for him,” the source added at the time.
