Karoline Leavitt Accuses ‘Tampon Tim’ Walz of Lies

The pen is mightier than the sword. Or, in Karoline Leavitt‘s case, the keyboard and X (formerly Twitter) is mightier than actually spitting facts. When Tim Walz accused Leavitt of saying the White House’s ballroom construction is a “top priority,” she shared the clip on X and wrote, “Stop lying, Tampon Tim.” She really seemed to think she did something special with that quip, but really it’s just in reference to Walz’s work in making sure schools have menstrual products for kids who need them.

Honestly, Leavitt’s dig is more of a deep cut. And if your insult requires Googling or asking your Alexa why Leavitt called Minnesota’s governor Tampon Tim, is it really that great of a comeback? Leavitt is no stranger to being extra loud on social media, though, especially when it comes to defending Donald Trump against Democrats, Liberals, and really anyone who isn’t sitting at the popular table at the White House cafeteria right now.

Karoline Leavitt thought she did something with that “Tampon Tim” line.

In the clip that Leavitt shared in her X post, Walz says that the government is “choosing not to fund” programs that offer SNAP and food stamp benefits to Americans in need. He also says that Leavitt specifically told reporters that the ballroom is the “top priority” for the president. That’s the bit that Leavitt took issue with.

No, it wasn’t Walz’s claims about the United States government being to blame for the SNAP benefits crisis, because really, where is the lie? Apparently, Leavitt knows this on some level, because she was quick to share a post that quotes what Leavitt said to reporters that Walz referenced in his claims.

When a reporter asked Leavitt if Trump had other plans for renovating the White House, she responded, “Not to my knowledge, no, but he’s a builder at heart, clearly, and so his heart and his mind is always churning about how to improve things here on the White House grounds. But at this moment in time, of course, the ballroom is really the President’s main priority.”

Tim Walz’s tampon bill is actually a good thing.

Leavitt might have thought she was really delivering a zinger on the former vice presidential candidate with the tampon line. But in reality, Walz’s Minnesota bill that guarantees menstrual hygiene products in the bathrooms at schools is one that is beneficial for kids and families throughout his state.

The nickname came about when Trump and Kamala Harris were on the campaign trail for the 2024 presidential election. In August 2024, one of Trump’s former advisors, Stephen Miller, posted on X “She actually chose Tampon Tim.”

According to NPR, a far-right influencer posted a since-deleted photo of Walz on a tampon box. This is all because he passed a bill that’s similar to bill sin other states, and in Washington, D.C., thank you very much. Maybe it’s the way Tampon Tim rolls off the tongue, or maybe Leavitt just can’t take a little criticism when it’s tossed her way. But the whole Tampon Tim thing was over once the election ended, so maybe Leavitt should, well, leave it back there.
