Karoline Leavitt Says Trump Might Still Get the Nobel Peace Prize at Some Point — Sure, Jan

Apparently it isn’t enough that Donald Trump is removing the White House and maintaining control over the United States. He just has to get his tinted hands on the Nobel Peace Prize. Karoline Leavitt told the press that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi will nominate Trump for the award, per The Hill.

OK? And for what? Trump didn’t get it in 2025, and by all accounts he has to do something worthy of earning the prize in 2026. Just because you say you stopped half a dozen wars doesn’t mean you actually qualify for a peace prize that was once awarded to a literal living saint. But, according to Leavitt, Trump is still trying to work his way into getting the coveted Nobel Peace Prize.

According to the official website for the award, there are six different categories in which people can win awards, including chemistry, literature, and the actual Nobel Peace Prize. The latter is what Trump thinks he’s going to win with the endorsement of another world leader.

But, um, you actually have to enact peace, my guy.

The Hill reported that the first female prime minister Takaichi spoke openly about hearing of Trump’s “dynamic diplomacy.” Is she watching the same Trainwreck as the rest of the country? But Trump apparently believes that an alignment with Japan could get him the endorsement he needs to win the Nobel Peace Prize at some point.

This is what he is working on. Not solutions for gun control or lobbying for better healthcare and good resources for Americans. Instead, he is figuring out all avenues to get his hands on the Nobel Peace Prize. Still.

The award is given out to those who do the work to deserve it.

It’s hard to see the actual work, or work on a diplomatic and peaceful level, that is involved with deploying the National Guard on U.S. streets and trying to control the press. And if Trump is eventually recognized with the award, will it be because he earned it or because his powerful friends bullied the committee into choosing Trump one year?

For what it’s worth, Trump did say, per The Hill, that he knows some of his words and actions might make him ineligible to be the recipient of the award.

“That’s a terrible statement for me to make,” Trump said in a speech to sailors after he made comments about “blasting” U.S. threats. “That’s the end of it because everybody said that I should immediately get the Nobel Peace Award. With that statement, that takes me out of the run.”

We love a self-aware queen. I mean, not this one in particular necessarily. But still, we can give credit where it’s due. Now all he has to do is stop campaigning for an award that just might not be in the cards for him, regardless of what lapdog Leavitt says.
