After Donald Trump signed a new executive order detailing new guidelines for vaccines for infants and children, Karoline Leavitt doubled down on the move. She appeared on Fox News to applaud her boss and claim that he was making good on promises he had made about the topic during his run for what would be his second term in office.
The only thing is, those who watched Leavitt make her appearance on the Fox News show Hannity criticized her for supporting a president who makes uninformed decisions about the health of America.s In this case, it would be the youngest Americans. And, even though Leavitt was ready to gas up the president, not everyone was willing to let her have this win.

When Leavitt appeared on Hannity, she proudly said that Trump was working hard to Make America Healthy Again. Which is, of course, an offshoot of the Make America Great Again slogan that Trump continues to pander to anyone who will listen. And even for those who don’t want to listen.
“Today was a great day for the MAHA [Make America Healthy Again] movement!” Leavitt said on the show. “It was another promise made. A promise kept by President Trump today. He signed a historic executive order, creating the gold standard of science, childhood vaccinations scheduled for parents.”
Those who watched Leavitt on Hannity commented on a video about the appearance on X (formerly Twitter) and called her out.
“Haha, there is no way in hell she isn’t vaccinating her children,” one person wrote. “Performative bulls–t.”
“No science was had in the making of these moronic ‘orders,'” someone else commented. “They’re making them for stupid people to feel more confident in their stupidity.”
Another person suggested, “When her kid gets sick, she shouldn’t be allowed to go to the hospital or doctor since she knows more than they do.”
Per CNBC, the executive order that Trump signed has to do with lowering the number of vaccines that children need in the United States. Like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump spoke of an alleged connection between autism and vaccines, which has not been proven by anyone or in any confirmed study.
Trump also said, according to CNBC, that the executive order “aligns us with common sense and knowledge.”
She also posted about theories regarding infant vaccines.

On her own X account, Leavitt posted about vaccines herself. According to her post, infants in the U.S. are subjected to more than 70 vaccines, while babies in a “European country” get 11 vaccines. Although Leavitt seems to think she is in the know about the amount of vaccines given to newborns, there are some facts and figures she seems to be forgetting. Like, oh I don’t know, the ones from medical professionals.
According to UC Davis Medical Center, newborns are given two primary vaccines. At two months old, they receive six others, which includes a second one for protection against Hepatitis B. The schedule includes more for the four month and then six month mark. But the number does not even come close to 72.
Pediatricians still have access to vaccines.
Despite Trump’s executive order, and those claims about infants getting 72 vaccines, pediatricians have not reported being unable to access the proper vaccines for their infant patients. Dr. Jennifer Shu, a pediatrician in Atlanta, Ga., told NPR, “At the very beginning, when the administration started making changes, people were concerned about — gosh, are we no longer going to have access to certain vaccines? But I’m not hearing that anymore.”
And, so far, she has been able to keep up with the regular vaccine schedules for her youngest patients.
