Kate Gosselin is reportedly open to finding love again. Kate and her ex-husband Jon Gosselin, who became famous for the reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, divorced in 2009. Several years later in 2014, Kate reportedly started seeing entrepreneur Jeff Prescott. However, by September 2015, they had split up. While these two relationships didn’t work out for Kate, she hasn’t given up on dating, according to an In Touch source.
Kate previously appeared on her own short-lived dating show.
In 2019, about 10 years after her divorce, Kate was the subject of Kate Plus Date. Though Kate said she was truly hoping to meet her perfect match, her ex-husband was skeptical of the idea. “I don’t think anyone can [find love on TV],” Jon told Us Weekly in 2018. “I think you need to find it [organically].” There were only six episodes of the show.
Now, Kate is reportedly taking a more traditional approach.
Finding love via reality TV clearly didn’t work out for Kate. An insider told In Touch that Kate would prefer to meet someone “the old-fashioned way” now, especially because she’s reportedly not a fan of dating apps.
“She wants to meet a guy through friends or the old-fashioned way, in a supermarket or coffee shop,” the insider claimed. She reportedly gave up on dating apps after “trying that route and hating it,” according to the insider.
She has embraced a quieter life in recent years.
It seems like Kate is largely trying to stay out of the spotlight these days. In March, The U.S. Sun reported that she renewed her nursing license and was living in North Carolina. A source previously told In Touch that Kate’s “life is nothing like it once was.” According to the insider, she “hardly any friends and only some of her kids to talk to.”
Jon is engaged.
Though Kate appears to still be looking for love, her ex-husband Jon and his fiancée Stephanie Lebo announced their engagement in November 2024 after three years of dating. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jon was asked how Kate might’ve reacted to his engagement news. “I have no idea,” he answered. “I haven’t talked to her since 2018 and I wasn’t thinking of her when I was proposing to Steph.”
However, he suggested that Kate probably scoffed and said something like, “I can’t believe it!”
