There's a good chance we're going to be talking about the fight between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle right before her wedding to Prince Harry until the end of time, and now, there are new details to add to the discourse. In his new memoir, Spare, Harry revealed texts between Meghan and Kate that clear the whole thing up. Will this finally be the end of the debate?
The story began as rumors and then evolved over time.

Shortly after the 2018 royal wedding, we knew that things weren't quite right between Meghan and Kate and that it likely had to do with the flower girl dresses used in the wedding — the same one that Princess Charlotte wore.
At first, Meghan was believed to have been at fault, but during their sit-down with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, Meghan and Harry revealed that it had actually been Kate to make Meghan cry when it all went down.
Harry says it all started with a text from Kate.

In his book, Harry writes that Kate texted Meghan just days before the wedding to tell her that Princess Charlotte's dress was "too big, too long, too baggy," even though it had been made from her measurements.
"She cried when she tried it on at home," Kate continued.
Meghan texted back to tell Kate to bring Charlotte back to the tailor.

"Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?" Meghan's text reply read.
But instead of doing that, Kate reportedly discussed the situation over with her own dress designer, who agreed with her that "all the dresses be remade."
The situation truly unraveled from there.
Given all of the media hoopla that was going on with Meghan's dad, Thomas Markle, who had just had a heart attack at the time, Meghan texted back to ask Kate if she was aware that she was also dealing with that. According to Harry, Kate said she "was well aware, but the dresses. And the wedding is in four days!"
Kate went on about a party for the page boys and other wedding prep that needed to be done, which left Meghan to respond, "I’m not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn’t fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He’s been waiting all day."
By the time Harry got home that day, he found Meghan crying "on the floor."
Weddings are such a stressful time.
We can't even imagine what the stress level is like when it's a royal wedding we're talking about, with all eyes on the big day — and at the same time, Kate was recently postpartum after giving birth to Prince Louis just weeks before.
We do know that the women made up afterward, but it sounds like their relationship was never the same after that. It's a shame, but the royal family has a lot of making up to do if they're ever going to get back to where they were, and Kate and Meghan are the least of it at this point.
