"Anything you can do, I can do better" must be Princess Kate Middleton's motto because the mother of three can't be beat! Kate squared off against her own husband, Prince William, on Tuesday when the pair raced during an appearance in Wales. Kate soundly beat her hubby despite wearing heels and a skirt during their contest.
The pair were in Wales for the St. David's Day celebration.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were visiting their namesake location to celebrate the area's national holiday, according to Page Six.
William and Kate shook hands and accepted flowers as they met the locals before stopping by the Aberavon Celtic Leisure Centre, which boasts a pretty nice-looking spin studio.
Kate was dressed to the nines for the appearance, but that didn't stop her from hopping on a bike.
Despite wearing a pair of high-heeled boots and a long skirt, the always game Kate was eager to hop on a bike and square off against her husband.
We don't know whether it was her natural competitive nature or the fact that the athletic royal knew she could win, but Kate definitely seemed down for a friendly contest.
William was left in Kate's figurative dust.
The lack of athletic footwear didn't stop Kate, who spun her way to victory in a 45-second sprint against her husband.
Video taken during the race shows a gleeful Kate celebrating her surprise win while William seemed a little taken aback by the fact that he was beaten by a rider in heels and a skirt!
This isn't the first time Kate has gotten physical while wearing heels.
Back in 2013, Kate showed off her volleyball skills while wearing a blazer, skinny jeans, and a pair of towering wedges.
Most of us can't keep up while wearing top-of-the line athletic gear, but Kate has proven time and time again that there's very little that can get in her way when it comes time to play.
It's kind of charming that William still thinks he has a chance against Kate.
We love how after more than a decade of marriage, William still has hope that he'll be able to best his wife when it comes to something athletic.
It seems as if the royals have a great sense of humor about their friendly competitions. That's probably why Kate jumps at the chance to goof off with her husband even when she's not dressed for the occasion.
