Kate Middleton looks good in all kinds of colors, from her bolder looks to all the times she's worn sapphire blue to match her engagement ring. But when March 17 rolls around each year, the Duchess of Cambridge is decked out in green and green only — and considering how good she looks in the color, it's no surprise that she wears it on days that aren't the holiday.
From celebrating St. Patrick's Day to visiting Ireland to simply wearing green because she felt like it, there are too many times that Kate has killed it in an outfit featuring this bright color to possibly count. Narrowing down the best of these looks is even harder — but that's just what happens when we're talking about the Duchess of Cambridge, a fashion icon in her own right.
Need a little green fashion inspiration? Here are all of our favorite green outfits that Kate has worn over the years, both on St. Patrick's Day and on any other day of the year.
A Monochromatic Green Moment
Once in a while, Kate picks a color theme for an outfit and sticks with it, and this look is a perfect example of that. Taken in March 2022 while Kate and Prince William were visiting Wales, the duchess chose to wear a green top under a long green coat. She looks so warm!
Green Sequins Everywhere
This lady knows how to rock a red carpet, especially when the Royal Variety Performance comes around each year. Here, we see Kate at the 2021 edition of the show, giving us a lot of pizzazz between that sparkly dress and her unusually curly hair. Such a great formal look!
A Wimbledon Woman
Some of our favorite looks from Kate come from when she watches the tennis at Wimbledon, which seems to be a tradition for her and her family. This bright green dress helped her stand out in the crowd (as if she wouldn't do that no matter what she's wearing) and was a perfect summer choice.
Galway Girl
Visits to Ireland always call for a lot of green, and that was certainly true when William and Kate toured the area in March 2020 (one of their final in-person formal engagements for a while before the lockdowns started). As always, green and white polka dots look great on her.
Grabbing Some Guinness
When William and Kate made a visit to the Guinness brewery during the same Ireland trip, they really dressed up for the occasion. This meant that Kate pulled out a sparkly green dress (yes, she has more than one) — and William didn't look too bad, either. Kate's gold earrings really completed the look.
When in Ireland
During their visit, Kate got to hang with Sabina Coyne, the wife of the president of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins. It looks like they got along famously, judging by this photo — but that might have had something to do with the fact that Kate really dressed like she was excited to be there.
Green in the Stands
Here, we have one of the rare moments that Kate and sister-in-law Meghan Markle looked like they were actually going to turn out to be BFFs (even though that doesn't seem to be exactly what happened). Another Wimbledon, another green dress — why switch things up when this works for her?

Simple But Not Boring
Kate is known for her more classic, timeless looks, and this is certainly one of them. This green dress has a simple cut and design, but still looks gorgeous on her — though we have to admit that amazing hair day she was having probably helped.
Green Coat & Accessories
During Kate and William's tour of Pakistan in the fall of 2019, Kate pulled out this bright pea green number while visiting Islamabad. Not only is her bright, cheerful green coat enough to keep her warm, but she also accessorized with a darker green and gold scarf.
Her St. Patrick's Day Best
St. Patrick's Day is the one day you're required to wear green — we didn't make the rules! So of course, Kate goes all out each year, decked out in the color from head to toe, especially when she attends the parade in London. That hat is so cute!
Stylish in Green
OK, we're loving this entire ensemble! Not only is Kate's bright green coatdress so fashion-forward, but pairing it with black tights and matching lace-up suede boots really made that bright color pop. It wasn't even St. Patrick's Day when this photo was taken.
Green Tartan
Kate wasn't in Ireland when this photo was taken — she was actually in Scotland (hence the Black Watch tartan). But still, this look deserves a spot in her green outfit hall of fame. The plaid is pretty, but she focused on the green with her scarf and matching green leather bag.
Timeless Dots
Another opportunity to see Kate in white and green polka dots, and yet again, she looks amazing. We love the feminine touches on this dress, from the flowy sleeves to the collar — and the fact that Kate matched her earrings to the pearl buttons.
A Green Maternity Moment
Kate's maternity wear includes some of her best outfits ever, and this all-green ensemble is definitely included in that. She was pregnant with Prince Louis when this photo was taken in 2018, and we love this dress and coat set. She looks so cute!
Pregnant on St. Paddy's Day
Kate also happened to be pregnant with Louis on St. Patrick's Day in 2018 — just a few weeks before he made his grand entrance on April 23 — but it didn't mean she slowed down her green game. She wore this green coat that accommodated her bump — so pretty and cozy.
Wearing Green on the Red Carpet
We couldn't possibly discuss Kate's green maternity looks without including this olive green empire-waisted dress that she wore to the BAFTAs during her pregnancy with Louis. Bumping or not, this green and black look is absolutely gorgeous.
Flowers on a Rainy Day
Kate picked this look out to visit the White Garden at Kensington Palace in honor of Princess Diana, and even though it was rainy that day, the bright green floral pattern really brought the sunshine. Something tells us Diana herself would have approved.
Green Lace
It's not often that Kate is decked out in lace, but this green evening look was definitely the right choice. Her makeup makes it look like she's glowing, and we love that she paired her dress with a gold clutch. Low-key but still so fabulous!
Topped With a Bow
Another St. Patrick's Day parade, another opportunity for Kate to pull out her favorite green items from her closet. This was taken in 2018, and though Kate's classic coat is pretty, we're really obsessed with that hat adorned with a bow. So adorable!
A Belted Look
Kate shouldn't have looked so serious in this photo — unless she didn't know she looked this good! Here, the Cambridges were on their first tour with oldest son Prince George (to Australia and New Zealand), and this belted dress was gorgeous on her.
