With Labor Day behind us, most children are now officially back in school or are headed that way very soon — royal kids included! But like many moms, Kate Middleton is reportedly feeling "conflicting emotions" about the end of the summer and sending George, Charlotte, and Louis back to school for the upcoming term. After her health crisis this year and spending extra quality time with her kids, it sounds like this time is bringing up a lot of feelings for her.

On one hand, having the kids out of the house may be a relief for Kate.
As royal expert Jennie Bond told the UK's OK! magazine, like a lot of moms, Kate is likely looking forward to a break.
"Entertaining three children day after day – especially when there must still be days when she is feeling the effects of her cancer treatment – can’t always have been easy in these past few weeks," Jennie said.
This also means a lot of the family's fun is coming to an end, too.
The family seems to have spent most of the summer at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, where the kids would be able to enjoy plenty of space to run around — not to mentioned an increased level of privacy while Kate undergoes chemotherapy.
"I’m sure they’ve had a lot of fun and family time in Norfolk and Balmoral," Jennie added.
Kate is believed to be making good use of the time without the kids around.
"It will give Catherine the chance to rest quietly when she needs it without feeling guilty that she’s not with the children, and it will also give her the opportunity to continue the work that she has been doing behind-the-scenes on the campaign and projects that mean so much to her," Jennie said.

Kate has mostly been laying low this summer.
She still hasn't returned to her normal duties and workload this year, having taken time off to recover from cancer treatment. But Kate has been making public appearances here and there, including continuing her Wimbledon tradition and joining her family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for Trooping the Colour earlier this summer.
Back-to-school season is basically a guaranteed emotional roller coaster for parents.
There's something really nice about sending the kids off to school again and sliding back into those routines, but realizing just how much they're grown up as you watch them begin another year? That part can be pretty tough, so it wouldn't be surprising if that's how Kate is feeling right now, too.
