The clip has gone viral because of the now-Princess of Wales’ unexpected reaction to Prince William’s uniform. At the time, Kate was 24 years old. She attended the passing out parade, which is like a graduation ceremony for officer cadets, to celebrate Prince William’s achievement: he had completed the 44-week Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

At the time, Kate and William had been dating for a few years.
They first met while studying at St. Andrews University in 2001. However, they were friends before their relationship became romantic. Their romance became known to the public in 2004, two years before Prince William’s passing out parade.
The graduation ceremony was Kate’s first royal event.
At the time, Kate attended the ceremony to celebrate her then-boyfriend. Her presence at the event also sparked engagement rumors. Royal journalist Rebecca English said Kate’s appearance came as a surprise to reporters since it felt so significant. “I remember turning to the person next to me and saying, ‘That’s it. It’s a done deal. This woman is going to be our future Queen,'” the journalist said, per the Mirror.

Now, a video from the event has resurfaced.
The video shows Kate Middleton seated in the front row with her parents and two of William’s friends. After watching her then-boyfriend and the other cadets, Kate could be seen mingling and chatting with other guests. The footage doesn’t have sound, but a lip reader has revealed what Kate allegedly said after the ceremony.
She reportedly thought William’s uniform was ‘sexy.’
According to the lip reader, Kate enjoyed seeing her then-boyfriend in his uniform. According to the lip reader, Kate said, “I love the uniform — it’s so so sexy,” per the Daily Mail. After alleging making the comment about her boyfriend’s “sexy” uniform, she started laughing.
Princess Kate seems to think Prince William’s beard is attractive as well.
On 60 Minutes Australia, Prince William’s former communications secretary, Jason Knauf, was asked about how Kate feels about William’s facial hair. Though he hasn’t spoken to Kate about her husband’s beard, he knows she must like it. “If she didn’t like it, it wouldn’t be there,” he quipped. “I could tell you that!”
