Kate Middleton & Prince William’s Future Neighbors Are Reportedly Concerned for Their Privacy

Kate Middleton and Prince William are preparing to move from Adelaide Cottage into Forest Lodge by the end of the year, ideally settling into what will become their forever home. But is the neighborhood ready to welcome them? After some of the people who live nearby spoke with the Daily Mail this week, it sounds like some of the royal couple’s future neighbors may be concerned for their privacy — something that has always been very important to Will and Kate.

Preparations for the move are already being made.

By the time that news broke that Will and Kate were planning to move, there were already reports that the families who were living near Forest Lodge had been relocated to different homes in the area in order to give Will and Kate as much privacy as possible. But even with that part of the picture all squared away, it sounds like they will definitely be drawing attention once they’re moved in.

It’s hard to avoid that part, though; they are the future king and queen of England!

Locals are happy to have them, but a bit concerned.

When resident Jean Reeve spoke with the Daily Mail about her future neighbors, she said that she’s happy to have them … but she is a bit concerned about how much privacy they’ll be able to have.

“I welcome them. But I hope the public allow them to live there quietly as a family,” she said. “It’s a less private spot than their previous home — from what I know about the location. So I’d hate for people to always be going past and saying, ‘Oh, that’s where they live.’ They have young children after all. They deserve privacy.”

They’ll likely receive a warm welcome.

Another resident, Steven Scorgie, seemed to echo her sentiments.

“I’m happy to hear they’re moving this way. It’ll be nice to have some nice neighbors. I hope they say the same about me! I’ll invite them in for a cuppa if they want,” he said, adding that they should check out his favorite local pub, the Fifield Inn.

Renovations have already begun on Forest Lodge.

Earlier this month, The Sun reported that work is already being done to prepare Forest Lodge for its new inhabitants, both inside and out, though so far, the renovations appear to be minor.

Meanwhile, Kate is reportedly busy picking out the furnishings for their new home, where they plan to stay even after William takes the throne someday.
