What to Know
Queen Camilla might be by King Charles‘ side on the throne for now, but it sounds like some people are already very focused on the fact that Kate Middleton will one day have the title… and she isn’t very happy about it, according to one royal insider.
In fact, Camilla and Kate have reportedly been locked in a “power struggle” over this topic for months, and now, their feud is getting so bad that they can hardly spend any time in each other’s vicinity and manage to play nice.
Things really became bad between them during Donald Trump’s state visit.

Back in September, cameras caught an awkward moment between Kate and Camilla, who appeared to ask the princess to step aside so she and Melania Trump could chat without her.
According to what a source told Radar Online, this moment was reportedly the moment things truly became worse in their “increasingly bitter feud.”
Not only does Camilla reportedly feel that Kate “hogged the limelight” during the Trumps’ state visit, with a palace aide adding, “That moment sparked a surge of mistrust. From that point on, the chill between them has been hard to miss.”
Kate has reportedly used up all her patience on the Andrew scandal and has none left for Camilla.
With ex-Prince Andrew‘s formal exit from the royal family (and his eviction from royally owned property) at the end of 2025, Kate supposedly has no energy for any other kind of drama.
“The situation with the Yorks has drained everyone involved, and Kate is no exception,” said the insider. “She has stood firmly behind William through months of fraught talks and hard choices, and it has weighed heavily on her, and left her in no mood to deal with Camilla. But things have reached such a height, the pair of them can barely bare to stay in the same room as one another.”
And after Kate and Prince William were supposedly the driving force behind the decision to evict Andrew from Royal Lodge, Camilla believes that they made a major “grab for control” and “effectively pushed her out of the process.”
At this point, the tension between them is said to be “palpable.”

Camilla is the queen right now, and the insider noted that she does not appreciate that “Kate is being talked up as Britain’s perfect future queen.”
“When Camilla settles on a view, she is rarely persuaded otherwise,” another source said. “She genuinely feels her standing has been weakened. Charles had promised she would be at the heart of major decisions as queen consort, yet she now believes the Waleses are taking control.”
