Kate Middleton Returns Early From Summer Vacation To Launch Her Latest Project

Improving the lives of children by working with early childhood professionals has always been one of Kate Middleton’s priorities as Princess of Wales (and, before that, as Duchess of Cambridge). And now, we know that her latest project was important enough to her that she interrupted her summer break in order to get things off the ground. A new series of films about supporting babies and children’s growth through everyday interactions has now premiered on YouTube, which Kate said will help little ones better “face the future.”

Kate worked with the Centre for Early Childhood on the project.

In collaboration with the Royal Foundation’s Centre for Early Childhood, Kate helped with the development of a series of animated films aimed at those who work with young children. As People reported, she also met with illustrators and others working on the project at a workshop in June, while the videos were still being developed.

The videos are now available to watch on YouTube.

The videos, which began streaming on the Centre for Early Childhood’s YouTube channel on Wednesday, cover topics like managing big feelings and why it’s so important to help children grow an emotionally healthy brain.

Each video is also beautifully animated, expertly explaining ways for both professionals and volunteers who work with children and their families to connect with them in a new way — and in a way that seamlessly fits into their daily interactions.

Kate called early childhood a ‘sacred opportunity’ for adults and children.

“Early childhood has been recognized as the golden opportunity to build strong foundations for future life, health and happiness,” Kate said in a statement, via People. “The new animated films from The Centre of Early Childhood showcase how adults can create nurturing, loving interactions with children, helping to foster social and emotional development during their earliest years.”

“These core social and emotional skills are essential in forming healthy relationships and are fundamental building blocks that can carry us through life,” she continued. “That is why we want to raise the awareness of, and celebrate, the extraordinary value of everyday moments of connection which matter more than ever in a rapidly changing world.”

Kate added that this time in a child’s life is a “sacred opportunity” to “transform our societies for the better and by nurturing these skills in our babies and children, we will be raising a younger generation better equipped to face the future.”

She has been enjoying time off with her three kids.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are now off for their summer break, so there’s no doubt that Kate has been enjoying some extra quality time with her children before they had back to the Lambrook School in September for another year of learning — the last where all three of her kids will attend the same school.

Here’s hoping she’ll still have plenty of time to relax, even while launching such a big new project.
