Kate Middleton Shares Rare Details About How Her Kids Spent Their Summer Break

Now that Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s kids are back at school, their proud mom is sharing what they were up to during their time off. Though of course, the family spent time at Balmoral in Scotland (as per royal summer tradition), Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were also keeping themselves busy doing something that plenty of kids their age have probably been doing all summer long, too.

The kids have been all about the crafts.

On Monday, Will and Kate visited London’s National Federation of Women’s Institutes, and while they were there, they spoke with members at the institute, who shared a comment that Kate made about their kids during the chat with People.

According to their mom, George, Charlotte, and Louis were “crafting in every corner of the house.” Plenty of creativity going around — and probably a bit of a mess, if they’re anything like most kids!

Kate also opened up about a hobby of her own.

During the conversation about creating, Kate said that it’s something she likes to do — and talked about her beekeeping hobby. That’s at least one thing she has in common with sister-in-law Meghan Markle!

Kate first shared that she enjoys beekeeping in 2023, when she posted a photo of herself in a protective suit as she tended to her hive.

Earlier this week, Will said his kids have been getting into music.

Hello! magazine reported that while visiting Spiral Skills, an organization that helps youth experiencing homelessness, on Tuesday, William said that his children have been learning music, which he feels is “crucial.”

“He said he couldn’t play drums well. He said he had learned drums and learned keyboards but couldn’t read it … But his children are learning to play keys, so hopefully his kids will come here one day and learn,” Seth Pinnock, the founder of Symphony Studios who was there that day, told the magazine.

He also shared his thoughts on Louis’ reputation for being a “handful.”

At the Women’s Institute visit, the Daily Mail reported that when William was asked if Louis was a “bit of a handful,” he replied, “He’s a character, but he’s a very good boy. He likes to wind his brother and sister up.”

He also seemed to hint that George can be a bit mischievous, too — when he knows all eyes aren’t on him, that is.

“When George is behind closed doors, it’s completely different. George just knows how to behave,” he said.
