March 30, 2025, marked Mother’s Day in the United Kingdom. To celebrate the holiday, Kate Middleton shared a message on social media. The mom of three took a decidedly different approach following last year’s photoshop controversy.
Royal fans likely remember the uproar the Princess of Wales caused with her 2024 UK Mother’s Day post. Kate posted a photo of herself and her three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Later, multiple experts found obvious photo-editing errors, and photo agencies issued a “kill notice” for the snapshot.
Kate shared a new video to celebrate UK Mother’s Day.
On March 30, Middleton took to Instagram to mark Mother’s Day. Instead of sharing an image featuring her children, the royal took a different approach to this year’s holiday celebrating moms. The Princess of Wales opted for a montage of clips highlighting gorgeous nature scenes.
She featured a tribute to Mother Nature.
In addition to the breathtaking video, Kate shared a fitting message with her followers.
“Over the past year, nature has been our sanctuary,” she captioned the update. “This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate Mother Nature and recognise how our bond with the natural world can help not only nurture our inner selves, but remind us too of the role we play within the rich tapestry of life. C.”
In the comments, royal fans sent well-wishes.
Fans flooded Kate with kind words in the comments of her Mother’s Day Instagram post.
One person shared, “Wishing you a wonderful Mother’s Day 💐. May you find peace and tranquility today and everyday ❤️.”
Another Instagrammer declared, “This is so beautiful! Happy Mother’s Day Catherine 🌷🌸🩷.”
Meanwhile, someone else commented, “Very much words of truth ❤️ happy Mother’s Day to you your highness.”
Last year, Kate was forced to address the photoshopped image in her Mother’s Day post.
Her 2024 Mother’s Day post was widely criticized for the sleeve of Princess Charlotte’s sweater not matching up with her wrist, among other glaring issues. The timing of the Photoshop gaffe was important, too, as Kate had been missing from the public eye for months following a planned abdominal surgery in January.
One day after sharing an edited photo of herself and her three children, Kate publicly addressed the Photoshop controversy.
“Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.”
Ultimately, Kate announced her cancer diagnosis on March 22, 2024. She revealed she was officially in remission in January 2025.
Meanwhile, King Charles also posted a Mother’s Day tribute this year.
On March 30, King Charles also took to Instagram with a post for Mother’s Day 2025. The featured photo showed Queen Elizabeth II attending a Royal Windsor Horse Show with a young Prince Charles and Princess Anne in 1956. Another snap showed Charles’ wife Queen Camilla’s late mother, Rosalind Shand, with her oldest grandson, Tom.
“Wishing all mothers, and those who are missing theirs today, a peaceful Mothering Sunday,” the royal captioned the sweet tribute.
