Sorry, Meghan Markle, you've definitely had some unforgettable fashion moments, but when it comes to blazers, Kate Middleton has absolutely cornered the game. Over the years, we've seen the Duchess of Cambridge wear this menswear-inspired piece with jeans, dresses, and slacks, and while we can't decide which look is our favorite, we do know that Kate deserves credit for the way she's made this part of her iconic style catalog.
From plaids to solids to bright pops of color, Kate has every blazer one could imagine in her wardrobe, and she uses them all well. This royal mom always looks so put together, and sometimes, a well-fitted blazer is exactly what helps her complete a look that might have otherwise looked less polished.

Kate ended up making quite a fashion statement when she wore this bright red blazer during a visit to Denmark in February 2022. She typically tries to dress in outfits that match the traditions or customs of the countries she's visiting, so of course she'd want to wear red there — it's the main color of Denmark's flag.
Gray, But Not Gloomy
Kate was really on her blazer game in the beginning of 2022. Also in February, she accessorized an otherwise all-black outfit with this gray check blazer on top, which really helped bring the whole look together. This lady means business in an outfit like this!
Business Casual
Speaking of Kate being all about business, here's another one of those times. She often likes to dress up an outfit that includes jeans with a blazer, elevating it enough that it turns her look into a work outfit. Maybe we need to take this as a tip for our own work wardrobes.
Classic Neutrals
Kate is known for her more low-key outfits, but low-key doesn't have to mean boring. Here, she's wearing neutral colors, but the cream blazer paired with the navy high-waisted pants is the perfect look to meet with members of the military like she was doing the day this photo was taken.

In this photo, Kate is proving that blazers can definitely be worn in the summer (weather allowing, of course). This bright coral is such a happy color, and we're loving the fact that it's gathered at the waist, giving Kate more of a shape than an oversized blazer would.

Kate has paired stripes with blazers before, and this time she looks like she's ready to be at the helm of a ship! The blue and white stripes, plus the gold buttons on the blazer, make us think she'd actually make a pretty good captain out at sea — or at least, she knows how to dress the part.

Here's another outfit with a bright pop of color, and this time, it's Kate's pants. We're loving this berry color on her with a tucked-in tee and her gray and black blazer. (And as per usual, we're incredibly jealous of her amazing hair day.)

Another tip from Kate's playbook is obviously a blazer over an all-black outfit — something we know she's done several times (and every single time, it results in a cohesive, put-together look). We're loving the turtleneck under the blazer, too!
A Matching Pair
OK, how cute are Prince William and Kate here, both wearing blue blazers at the same event? It's sweet how coordinated their looks are, but Kate wins this round, of course. Her double-breasted style is so cute, and this photo kind of makes us miss when she had shorter hair.

When many of us become moms, we just gradually accept the fact that white is usually out of the question in our wardrobes — we can't risk the mess. But Kate dares to wear white during her royal outings often, and with this outfit, the risk was certainly worth it!
All Blue
Kate has been known to wear the same shade of her sapphire engagement ring often, but here, she really outdid herself. Not only did she pair a blue dress with a blazer in a different shade of blue, but she managed to do it without it clashing. Amazing!

Hey, not every royal obligation has to be boring! During a 2014 visit to New Zealand, it looks like William and Kate got to enjoy some wine in a vineyard, and of course, Kate looked good doing it in crisp shirt under a blazer. So stylish!

When we look at this outfit, we think "classic Kate" — this is just one of her signature looks, and it happens to include a blazer. Stripes, skinny jeans, and all the right accessories. We've seen her in a similar ensemble so many times, and it's because it just works.
