After Kate Middleton shared that she had completed chemotherapy in September, she’s slowly been getting back to work – definitely a good sign that she’s feeling better these days. But according to one royal expert, the real signs that she’s feeling more like her normal self again are super subtle, and they could mean that we will see even more of her in the coming year.

Kate appeared at a state visit this week.
When the royals welcomed the emir of Qatar and his wife earlier this week, Kate was there alongside Prince William and King Charles to greet them, though she didn’t attend the banquet that followed that evening. She doesn’t make nearly as many public engagements now that she’s focused on recovering after chemo, but this is a sign that they’re starting to ramp back up again.
Kate is taking a 'gradual' approach to getting back to work.
According to what Daily Mail royal correspondent Rebecca English wrote in her column this week, this is part of Kate’s “measured return to work.” Because she’s taking things more slowly, Kate only attended one event on the day’s agenda, but it still served as a positive sign that her health is trending in the right direction.
One small moment from the day in particular spoke volumes.
At one point during the event, Will put his hand on Kate’s back for just a moment, which Rebecca wrote showed he was there to offer her comfort but for the most part was “otherwise happily letting his wife get on with what she does best — shine.”
If William has the confidence to let Kate do her thing, she must really be feeling better.

For the time being, it seems that this is the way things are going to be.
A source told Rebecca that given this year’s “challenges,” it seems the royals are doing the best they can – especially with Queen Camilla skipping out on many engagements while she is still recovering from an infection.
“It’s just a question of adaptions given the particular challenges of this year. I don’t think this is a sign of things to come but it is necessity of where we find ourselves at this moment in time,” the source said.
However, it says a lot of just how far Kate and Charles have come.
After the year began with nothing but bad news about Kate and Charles’ health, the fact that the royals are out and about now shows that they’re really trying.
“It is utterly remarkable that within less than a year of these seismic – and potentially catastrophic – events that we have almost all members of our royal family on duty simultaneously at such a diplomatically crucial event,” Rebecca wrote.
Here’s hoping we’ll get to see even more of them in the year ahead.
