If you’ve been paying attention to Kate Middleton this past year, you probably would have noticed that some of her perspectives might have shifted since her 2024 cancer diagnosis.

Both Kate and her husband, Prince William, have been sharing seasonal YouTube videos on their account for their ongoing Mother Nature project.

According to a royal source who has spoken to RadarOnline.com, Kate “has leaned fully into spiritual wellness – some might even say she’s gone full white witch in the way she talks about energy, nature, and healing.” That’s fairly interesting to learn, especially considering that most royal family members are rather prim and proper, especially when engaging with the public.

Another royal insider shared that after what Kate experienced with her cancer battle, it’s really become part of her healing journey. They shared, “After what she’s been through, she’s drawn to rituals of calm, reflection, and connection with the natural world. It’s less about labels and more about survival and peace.”

Some people are having a hard time connecting with this new side of Kate.

On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, Kate Middleton shared on her Instagram page a carousel of five landscape images in honor of Earth Day. The 44-year-old captioned the photos with “When we listen to the rhythms of Mother Nature, we remember where we belong. C.” It’s easy to decipher from the post that her link to the natural world is something that’s very important to her. However, not everyone fully gets it.

In this Reddit thread, a few people discuss if Kate’s whole public perspective showcasing a love of nature is the royal family working to give her a “brand.” They wrote, “They are trying to give her a brand. “Nature” is fairly innocuous and lets her be low effort about it so this seems to be where they’ve settled.”

Another person in the comments shared how they would love the royal family to dig a little deeper and focus on bigger issues. “Focusing on nature healing is an easy thing. You don’t have to raise money or thank anyone. A focus on actual healthcare workers opens a can of worms so it’s much more simple to just look up at the trees and do voiceovers,” they wrote.

Some folks would rather their taxpayer money go towards more important causes.

In this Reddit thread titled ‘Kate marks 44th birthday with another boring nature video, this time informing the plebs about winter,’ there are several comments discussing how some people in the UK feel that their tax money could be better spent when it comes to the royal couple sharing their Mother Nature project videos.

One person shared, “Aren’t you glad your taxpayer money is spent to tell you what seasons there are?” One individual commented about how the videos didn’t quite land with them and something just felt off. “It feels like she’s trying to make a point, but she just doesn’t quite know what it is or how to make it. This series could have been about conservation. It could have been about climate change threatening natural beauty,” they wrote.

Another redditor can’t quite understand who Kate and Prince William made these videos for. “Who exactly is this for? I mean, who is the target audience, because I’m just getting second hand embarrassment,” they wrote.

No matter where you stand with the Mother Nature project videos, you can likely relate to Kate’s need for peace and healing that’s often found in nature, because everyone deserves a sense of tranquility.
