Since they got married in 2022, Katey and Jed Duggar have shared an Instagram account, documenting their growing family along the way. But as they await the arrival of their twins, they’re branching out on their own. Katey now has her own Instagram account, and it’s leading to a lot of speculation about what made her decide to separate her posts from her husband’s – especially during such a pivotal time in their lives as a family. Hmm …

Katey's solo Instagram page appeared just days ago.
Duggar critics on Reddit were among the first to discover Katey’s new Instagram account, which already has 1,209 followers. Her first post was shared over the weekend, which means it’s still very new – and because the couple’s formerly shared account (which, presumably, only belongs to Jed now) had more than 224,000, it seems many of her fans haven’t found the new account yet.
The first post she made featured her and her son.
In the video, Katey and her 2-year-old son, Truett, are walking down a sidewalk together – albeit very slowly, because toddlers are known for moseying. “When you finally find someone who matches your walking pace,” she wrote on the video.
Katey added in her caption, “We’re the perfect pair.”
Fans are already speculating about what Katey's new account must mean.
More than one Redditor believes that Katey is getting ready to launch her mom influencer career now that she has twins on the way.
“She’s going to make lots of twin related posts because she must know they do well on social media. It’s insane how many twins, triplets, and quads are plastered on social media by their parents for money,” one person wrote.
Another commenter shared, “She’s definitely going to try and be an influencer. Look at her smug face.”
Others think she and Jed have a different motivation.
“What if they’re separating their pages so Jed can think of running for political office again. I sincerely hope not,” one commenter wrote.
Jed ran for Arkansas state representative back in 2020 but didn’t end up winning the race.

Katey isn't the first to branch off from a shared account.
Though Joy-Anna once shared her Instagram account with husband Austin Forsyth, back in 2020, they decided to separate their accounts, with Joy keeping the account their family had been using until that point and Austin getting his own.
Maybe Katey just wanted her own space to share what she wants on her own, especially as she prepares to bring twin girls into the world in just a matter of weeks. Can’t blame her for that!
