Katherine Schwarzenegger wants to make sure nobody thinks anything untoward was going on when she met now-husband Chris Pratt while attending church in 2018. She insists that the pair had a totally innocent meet cute that was actually facilitated by Katherine's matchmaking mom … so apparently, the rumors aren't true?
Katherine was chatting with Drew Barrymore when the topic came up.
While appearing on Friday's episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Katherine wanted to make it very clear to viewers that Chris hadn't behaved inappropriately when they first met in a house of worship in 2018.
"We met each other at church," she explained. "It was very sweet, but he didn't try and pick me up in church."
The mother of two seemed eager to defend her husband's squeaky clean reputation.
Apparently, she gets frequent questions about how Chris managed to go from fellow congregate to husband, which is why she wanted to make sure everyone knew that the Parks & Rec alum was nothing but a gentleman.
"Everybody's always like, 'How did that happen that you were in church? How'd that work?'" she said.
Yeah, Katherine, we've got questions too!
Drew then gushed over Chris, who is a good friend of hers.
Although people who don't know the Guardians of the Galaxy actor that well may have some preconceived notions about how Chris went about getting Katherine's number, Drew celebrated the new dad, calling him her "favorite person" and saying he "puts goodness into the world."
It sounds like Chris didn't have to pursue Katherine at all.
Maria Shriver is actually the one who worked the relationship mojo. According to Katherine, helping people find their soulmates is kind of the 67-year-old's favorite hobby, and she even suggested that Drew submit to a fix-up.
"[She] loves to be a matchmaker and she will do it," she continued. "It's, like, her pride in life."
Spirituality is very important to Chris and Katherine.
They've both been open about how much their faith means to them, with Chris even making mention of it in a post about their engagement.
It sounds like they have a love story they're both very proud of, considering that he didn't exactly try to woo Katherine from the pews like the celebrity rumor mill would have us believe.
