Though Katy Perry might be a new mom, she has a lot more to worry about than just her baby girl, Daisy Bloom: She's actually in the thick of a pretty scary stalker situation. Earlier in September, Katy was granted a restraining order against her alleged stalker after the man reportedly made multiple attempts to access her home in Beverly Hills, and now that we have more details about the situation, it may be even scarier than we originally thought.
So far, we know that Katy is allegedly being stalked by a man named William Terry who has been hanging out near (or around) her property for at least the last two months — if not longer. It's gotten to the point that Katy feels she and fiancé Orlando Bloom's safety is threatened, and we can't imagine what it must be like for her to go through this so soon after welcoming her first child into the world.
Here are all the details of Katy's stalker situation. While it's definitely still ongoing — especially since her restraining order at this point is only temporary — hopefully, Katy will be able to take the measures necessary to feel as safe as possible, now that she has a newborn baby at home. Celebrity or not, no one should have to be afraid in their own home.
Terry Has Reportedly Been Trying to Access Her Home
It's not like Katy's stalker is just tracking her on social media or sending her messages. He's attempted to access her at her home in Beverly Hills — at least twice — according to the court documents that Katy filed. In fact, he's even made it onto her property once, by pretending to be one of her invited guests.
This Has Been Going on Since at Least August
In the documents, Katy cited attempts to get on her property twice — once in August, and once in September. On August 3, Terry allegedly told her security that he had been invited to Katy Perry's home, and on September 8, he returned, reportedly jumping over her fence to get in. It was at that point that Terry was arrested, kicking off the process for Katy to get a restraining order.
Threatening Orlando
In the filing for her protective order, Katy described the terrifying threats that Terry had made against her fiancé — and it sounded like he wanted him dead. "In addition to his attempts to make physical entry to my home, Terry has also posted death threats against my partner Orlando Bloom, stating that he wants to snap his neck," she said in the paperwork.
Terry Might Be Homeless
According to Katy, Terry is believed to be homeless and living in a silver Buick sedan. He's also not anyone who she or Orlando has ever known personally, so it seems like there isn't too many deets about Terry — or his past, for that matter.
Arrested & Released
On Terry's second attempt to access Katy's home in September, his efforts were thwarted by her security, and he was placed under a citizen's arrest and later booked for criminal trespassing. He was later released and is currently free, but he has been ordered to stay away from Katy under her temporary protection order.
The Restraining Order Applies to Katy & Orlando's Immediate Family
Under the protective order, Terry is required to stay at least 100 yards away from Katy and Orlando — and their new baby girl, Daisy Dove Bloom. The order also applies to Orlando's son with ex Miranda Kerr, Flynn, so fortunately, it seems pretty all-encompassing … which is exactly what the family needs to feel safe during such a scary ordeal.
Katy's Stalker Has Been Tweeting About Her for Some Time
Terry's Twitter account was uncovered by The Sun, and it includes a lot of disturbing messages — many of them about or directed at Katy. He tweeted at length about her pregnancy, often retweeting her messages and talking about her and her appearance. So far, Terry's tweets about the singer are all still live, and so is his account.
Calling Katy His 'Wife'
Katy cited one of Terry's tweets in the court filing, pointing out that he calls her his "wife," and is simply trying to see her during his alleged trespassing. In the tweet, he wrote, "Security guard trying to stop me from seeing my wife and had a gun and all but I wasn't going down without a fight," referencing his thwarted attempt to gain access to her property.
Restraining Order Tweet
After he was released from jail following his second trespassing attempt, Terry took to Twitter to share close-up photos of the papers he was served for Katy's protection order via her lawyer, Daniell K. Newman. He later replied to his own tweets with "mugshots" of him and his dog, writing, "I don't remember how I got to the jail house or how I got out but I found my car and papers on how to get my dog back."
Postmates Driver
On Terry's Twitter account, he mentions working for Postmates multiple times. It seems he's been making a living by delivering food for the service in the Los Angeles area. "There's a lot of hills and a huge incline that separates Beverly Hills, Hollywood and the movie studios! Running errands on Postmates through this and living up to the name Hill Billy," he wrote in one tweet.
Sending Katy Lewd Messages
In the filing, Katy included the fact that not only has Terry been tweeting about her, but he has also been messaging her directly online … including some pretty disturbing messages at that. "Terry has also repeatedly sent me/posted numerous disgusting messages on Twitter, many of a graphic sexual nature," she stated.
Armed & Dangerous?
The filing mentioned that Katy believes that Terry has weapons, which is part of the reason she was so worried about him stalking him — other than the obvious reasons of not wanting someone to trespass on her property, of course. He's admitted as much in his tweets, and knowing that he's threatened Orlando, that makes the situation all the more horrifying.
Hearing Scheduled for October
On October 8, Terry is set to appear in court for a hearing related to Katy's protective order. Because the order is temporary, that hearing will determine whether it will end up being made more permanent. Hopefully, for Katy's sake, she'll be able to get all of the protection she needs for her and her family to feel safe.
Terry Will Face Criminal Charges in January
As The Sun reported, Terry will be appearing in court again in January on the criminal trespassing charges he was charged with when he was arrested at Katy's home in September. No word on whether or not Katy herself will have to be involved in that particular hearing, but it doesn't seem to be connected to her protective order at all.
This Isn't The First Time Katy's Had a Stalker
In 2017, a 37-year-old man from Poland — who was in the US on a tourist visa — was arrested for allegedly attempting to rush into a restricted area at her Miami concert after following Katy across the country. According to ABC News, Pawel Jurski was charged with aggravated stalking and escape, as well as loitering and resisting arrest.
