Kayla Nicole Seemingly Shades Ex Travis Kelce & Taylor Swift in New Super Bowl 2026 Commercial

After nearly three years of dating and an engagement, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are as solid as it gets, but one woman from the NFL player’s past doesn’t seem to be able to let their former love connection go. Travis’ ex, Kayla Nicole, starred in a new Super Bowl commercial that seemed to throw shade his way, and people have a lot of opinions about it.

Kayla Nicole has been making headlines for her relationship with Travis for a long time.

The former couple dated for about five years on and off until sometime in 2022, the year before Travis and Taylor started dating. Once that high profile relationship began to make headlines, it was quickly clear that Kayla had been unhappy about the way that the one she had with Travis had ended.

While competing on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Kayla admitted that it’s been hard being a part of a public breakup.

“It’s inadvertently affected me to the point where it makes me question, just like, my overall value as a person, as a partner,” she said on an episode of the show that aired in 2025. “I think it’s just the comparison and it’s just like on loop. I think I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with that.”

She appeared in an ad for Sleeper that aired during the Super Bowl on Sunday.

In the commercial for the sports app Sleeper, Tiffany Haddish and Ben Simmons play “ex-communicators” who can help people get over their exes after they were involved in very public breakups. The line up included Offset, Cardi B’s ex, along with reality star Ace Greene and Kayla.

“Simmons & Haddish promised me that they could put an end to this whole ‘ex-girlfriend’ fiasco quickly,” Kayla says, before Ben interrupts, “swiftly” — an obvious reference to Taylor.

People aren’t very impressed with Kayla’s latest move.

On X, there have been plenty of replies to Sleeper’s post from people who don’t believe the snark toward Travis and Taylor was necessary.

“Its giving Clout Chasing Convention because the money dried up,” one person wrote.

Another posted, “If your entire personality revolves around an ex that dropped you, you should probably consult a professional and work on behavioral redirection. Not even a clever ad, just a tired take with a hint of desperation. Oof.”

So far, neither Travis nor Taylor has responded to the commercial — at least, not publicly, anyway.
