An interview appeared to get too personal for Keith Urban on July 1, 2025. The country singer called in to Mix 102.3’s “Hayley & Max in the Morning” but then seemingly exited the interview in response to an uncomfortable question about his wife, Nicole Kidman. The cringe-worthy moment has gone viral and left the radio hosts wondering if Keith Urban “hates” them now.
Nicole has recently garnered a lot of attention for her roles in Babygirl and A Family Affair. Both movies feature steamy intimate scenes involving younger men. During the radio show interview, hosts Hayley Peterson and Max Burford asked Keith how he felt about these scenes – and then he disappeared.
The hosts prefaced the personal question by noting that their Wall of Truth game can include “very tricky“and “deeply personal” questions, per Us Weekly. Hayley added that she actually feels “really uncomfortable” asking these questions because she knows guests might not want to answer them.
Max then asked Keith, “What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV?”
The world may never know the actual answer, because the country star ended the call at that moment. “He’s just disconnected from Zoom,” a producer told the hosts. “I think his team hung up on us because they didn’t want us to ask that question.”
Hayley seemed confident that the question was too invasive for Keith. “That’s 100 percent what’s just happened. Oh, my God!” she said. “I knew that would happen. We’ve upset him! He’s gone.”
Max added, “Does Keith Urban hate us? Do we have beef with Keith Urban?”
Keith and Nicole have been married since 2006. In 2024, the actress told People that she’s “so lucky” to have him. She described Keith as her “deep, deep love.”
Previously, Nicole opened up about why she decided to take on some more physically intimate acting roles. Basically, she was eager to try something new. “I’ve always been on a quest as an actor,” she said previously. “I’m always going, where have I not been? And what can I explore as a human being? And this was an area I’d never been.”
However, she also revealed that filming Babygirl was overwhelming at times. She said, “There were times when we were shooting where I was like, ‘I don’t want to orgasm any more. Don’t come near me. I hate doing this. I don’t care if I am never touched again in my life! I’m over it.'”
