Kendall Jenner Admits She Gets ‘Frustrated’ With Dad Caitlyn’s ‘Different Views’

When Caitlyn Jenner appeared on The Kardashians this week to say goodbye to ex-wife Kris’ house with the rest of the family, it stirred up some feelings for one of her daughters. On the show, Kendall Jenner, 29, admitted that she can get “frustrated” with Caitlyn because of how different their views are, seemingly referencing Caitlyn’s more conservative political beliefs.

Caitlyn surprised her kids on this week’s episode of The Kardashians.

On this week’s episode of the family’s Hulu reality show, Caitlyn showed up unannounced to the final dinner that Kris and her family were having at her home before she moved out — the same house that Kendall and Kylie had spent the last years of their childhood growing up in. At the last minute, Kris had invited Caitlyn to join them.

“It’s only right for Caitlyn to be here tonight too, because she actually was part of all those amazing memories,” Kris said on the show. “It wasn’t just my house — it was our house.”

Kendall admitted she wasn’t expecting to see her dad at their dinner.

Knowing that Kris and Caitlyn have had a tumultuous relationship since their 2015 divorce, it doesn’t seem like any of her children thought that Caitlyn would be invited to dinner — including Kendall.

“I definitely wasn’t expecting my dad to be here, just knowing the relationship that my mom has with my dad — not that it’s bad, it’s just distant,” Kendall told the cameras. “My mom’s had a hard time inviting my dad to some of our family gatherings in the past, so it makes me happy that Kylie and I didn’t have to ask for my dad to be invited and that my mom just thought it was a good idea.”

Kendall’s relationship with Caitlyn has been challenging at times.

Elsewhere in her confessional, Kendall admitted that she and her dad have “completely different views on things” — not too surprising, since Caitlyn has always been outspoken about her conservative leanings — and over the years, it’s affected their relationship.

“I have to compartmentalize my relationship with my dad in a way,” she said. “Because I love her and she is my dad. We have a good relationship, but sometimes I get frustrated with her with certain things.”

Kendall added, “But, other than that, I always wanna include her. I know she doesn’t have a lot outside of her family, and I know that she gets lonely.”

In the end, everyone seemed happy that Caitlyn was able to be there.

No matter how awkward the dinner might have been with Caitlyn present, everyone seemed happy that she could be there — Kris included.

“I’m so happy that we were all here and we were able to say goodbye to a house that brought us so much joy and love, blood, sweat and tears, highs and lows — and that Caitlyn was there,” Kris said. “It’s been a really long road, but it was Caitlyn’s house too.”
