It sounds like a long-running joke among Duggar fans may actually have a bit of truth behind it, according to Without a Crystal Ball vlogger Katie Joy. According to her sources, there's a good chance of some merit to the rumors that Christina Caldwell keeps one-upping her daughter Kendra Duggar on purpose when it comes to pregnancy announcements.
Katie shared the news on her popular Instagram page.
It all boils down to the religious teachings of the Institute in Basic Life Principles, according to her. "For the men, the more children they have the more Godly they believe they are because God loved them more than others who cannot breed as many," she wrote.
"For women, their uterus and fertility are a sign that God loves them more. Women frequently desire to out do one another and even compete with their daughters."
This has turned things into a bit of a competition for Kendra's mom.
"For years, fans have looked at Christina Caldwell's pregnancy announcements after Kendra became pregnant with a side eye," she continued. "Christina already had seven children, was in her 40's, she and Paul struggled financially, and yet she became pregnant twice during Kendra's pregnancies."
It's true. Christina did seem to have an uncanny way of becoming pregnant just as her oldest daughter announced her own happy news.
Kendra has welcomed four children in five years.
Although Kendra's only publicly confirmed the births of her first three children before she and Joseph started to step away from social media, there have been multiple rumors that they have since added another child to their family, so it appears it's continued to grow.
Katie went on to write how "a longtime, very reliable source" with connections to the controversial family shared how Kendra's mom had a "strange" question for her after she and Joseph came back from their honeymoon.
Apparently one of Christine's first questions was "Do you think you are pregnant?" according to the source, which left Kendra feeling uncomfortable about the interaction.
Christina has made a habit of announcing her pregnancies quickly after her daughter.
Kendra's mom has started a pattern of falling pregnant every time her daughter does. Katie says her source believes that there's a competition and between Christina and her daughters when it comes to sprouting new branches on the family tree.
"They are obsessed with being pregnant," the source allegedly said of the women in the IBLP. "Especially with getting pregnant at the same time as their oldest daughters."
The Duggar family continues to expand.
If the rumors are true, then Christina may have a whole lot more work ahead of her. Kendra married into a notoriously prolific family when it comes to having kids in quick succession (and in large numbers). Given her young age — and the fact that, so far, she doesn't seem to waste much time between pregnancies — it's likely she will continue to have several more children over the next decade.
We hope Christina doesn't really plan to keep up with her daughter. With her history of high-risk pregnancies, especially as she gets older, she may be putting herself in a dangerous position.
