The Duggar family, even ones who are more on the periphery that you don’t tend to know as well, certainly don’t shy away from the spotlight, even when it doesn’t make them look all that great. With both of the former 19 Kids And Counting stars, Joseph and Kendra Duggar, facing charges for disgusting behavior involving minors, that hasn’t stopped the world from taking a look at what Kendra’s parents have been up to. In a recent Reddit post, commenters are having a field day about Kendra’s “shameless” parents who allegedly moved into the couples’ house due to being broke. There’s also lots of speculation about how her parents possibly contributed to her getting involved with the Duggar family in the first place.

While Joseph was arrested in March 2026 after being accused of child molestation, people were already discussing Kendra’s parents on Reddit and their behavior that some people are calling “shameless.”
In a DuggarsSnark thread, someone shared a photo of Kendra’s parents, Paul and Christina Caldwell, who can be seen in a cheeky pose standing in front of the house that Kendra and Joseph used to share. According to The Sun US, Kendra and Joe sold officially sold her parents their 1,540 square foot home in Arkansas for just $10,000 in 2021. That seems like awful cheap real estate!
Even if this isn’t a super recent photo, it does seem like a bit of a cringe thing to do, but this family is in large supply of gross behavior.
Some people are saying that with parents like this, Kendra didn’t stand ‘a chance.’
Facing up to eight years in jail on various counts of endangering a minor, things aren’t looking great for 27-year-old Kendra Duggar.
Oftentimes when someone goes down the wrong path, even if it appears to be a common occurence within their family or those they typically hang around, a lot of people look to their parents to get a feel for how they were raised and what could have possibly led them to such destructive or thoughtless behavior.
The individual who posted the photo of Kendra’s parents in the DuggarsSnark thread is not mincing words when it comes to her parents, Paul and Christina. This person explained that they are “disgusted over what these people have done to their daughter.” Wow. They are not a fan of them.
Another person in the Reddit thread claims that this photo screams “we don’t give a s–t about our daughter and our grandchildren!” Okay, we’re all entitled to our own opinions.
Are there dark forces at play when it comes to Kendra’s parents or are they just broke?
Though the Caldwell’s Instagram page is supposedly all about “Faith. Family. Freedom” — their words — a lot of people tend to disagree.
Kendra’s parents are quite young still, considering they have an adult daughter with multiple kids of her own. Someone in the Reddit thread explained that they see some possible resentment from Christina towards Kendra because they believe that Christina “only married Paul after she became pregnant,” which is why she ended up with an “unemployed loser.” Ouch.
In a different Reddit thread, someone commented that they routinely see things like this happen within super religious families. They said, “So, these dads require the guys (who want to court their daughters) to have a good job, but at the same time not being able to financially sustain their own family?? [The] hypocrisy of it all.” That’s one way to put it.
It is kind of strange to think about how when you’re a couple with nine children, and a lot of them still young kids that are living with them, why you would still need support or even a place to live from your adult daughter?
