Now that Kevin Federline is caring for the children he shares with Britney Spears full time, it sounds like he's looking for a higher monthly payout from the singer. After he and his family relocated to Hawaii — far from California, where Brit lives — Kevin is reportedly thinking about asking for more child support because he now has their sons all of the time. Currently, Britney provides $40k per month to go toward the care of both her sons: Sean Preston, who is about to turn 18, and Jayden James, who is freshly 17. But supposedly, Kevin doesn't think it's enough.

The current amount of child support was calculated when they shared 50/50 custody.
According to TMZ, when they set up the child support arrangement that still stands today, Britney and Kevin were each supposed to have the children in their care 50% of the time. The boys have lived with Kevin full time for years, but there's a reason to rethink things: Sean Preston is turning 18 this month.
Jayden will soon be the only child receiving support.

That means that the amount of support received may be cut in half, which could lead Kevin to ask for a $20,000 increase (or more) to continue to support Jayden through 2025, when he graduates high school.
So far, none of this has been confirmed by Kevin or his lawyer.
There was speculation this could happen after Kevin moved to Hawaii.
In June, news broke that Kevin and his wife, Victoria Prince, and their family were moving to Hawaii — Sean and Jayden included. At the time, some fans voiced their concern that this was a cash grab because, in Hawaii, child support can be extended through age 23 if the child in question is enrolled in college or vocational school.
Given that support was originally established in California, though, that might be a tough route for Kevin to take if he chooses to take it.
Britney has been estranged from her children for quite some time.
Though at one point it seemed as if they did have more regular visits with their mom, that hasn't happened in awhile.
Last year, Sean Preston and Jayden spoke with ITV about their strained relationship with their mother. "I 100% think this can be fixed. It's just going to take a lot of time and effort," Jayden said. "I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better I really want to see her again."

Recently, a source said Britney was reportedly 'relieved' that child support payments would soon be coming to an end.
If this intel an insider shared with The Daily Mail earlier this month is any indication, Britney may not take too kindly to Kevin's possible requests for more support.
"Britney is relieved that Sean is turning 18 on September 14 because she is tired of paying Kevin the insane amount of money he is getting," the source shared. "Britney is happy to help Sean and Jayden. There is nothing she wouldn't do for her sons. But this would go directly to them after they turn 18 instead of Kevin."
