Kevin Federline’s Memoir Isn’t Out Yet & Sam Asghari Just Dragged Him to Hell

Sam Asghari hasn’t read the new Kevin Federline memoir, but he has offered a harsh critique. Both men are well-known for their relatively short marriages to pop icon Britney Spears. Now, Kevin, 47, has written a memoir about the marriage, fame, and fatherhood — and it sounds like Britney’s most recent ex isn’t necessarily interested in reading it.

On August 16, TMZ asked Sam, 31, to share his thoughts on the upcoming memoir. His response has been interpreted as a jab at Kevin, 47. “He was a professional father,” Sam told the tabloid. “So it would be the first book that would tell you how to be a professional father.”

According to TMZ, Sam seemed to be hinting at how Kevin received $20K a month in child support from Britney for years. Their kids, Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden James, 18, lived with him full-time. And while the memoir might not exactly be about being a “professional father,” fatherhood is certainly a big part of it.

Per People, Kevin’s memoir, which comes out in October, discusses “fame, fatherhood and the private cost of public life” from the perspective of “one of pop culture’s most misunderstood figures.” In a press release, the book was described as a “deeply personal and emotionally grounded” account of what happened, providing questions to fans’ unanswered questions.

Kevin was married to Britney from 2004 to 2007. “This book is extremely intimate and transparent,” Kevin said, per People. “I achieved my biggest dreams, dealt with crushing heartbreak, and endured constant ridicule, all while becoming the father my children needed as they experienced nonstop emotional turbulence. If you’ve ever had questions, you’ll find answers here.”

Meanwhile, Sam was married to Britney from 2022 to 2024. While they were married, he also made comments about how Britney’s ex-husband Kevin “hasn’t worked much in over 15 years.” At the time, Kevin claimed that Sean and Jayden didn’t want to see their mom.

On social media, Sam defended Britney, writing that there was “no validity” to Kevin’s “irresponsible” claims.

“The boys are very smart and will be 18 soon to make their own decisions and may eventually realize the ‘tough’ part was having a father who hasn’t worked much in over 15 years as a role model,” Sam wrote.

At the same time, he explained that he had “nothing against [Kevin] aside from him choosing to vilify [his] wife.”
