Back in October, when SKIMS started promoting its faux pubic hair panties, people had tons of questions for Kim Kardashian (such as, Why?) And apparently, Kim’s sister Khloé Kardashian had the same questions. When Kim’s brand first promoted the Faux Hair Micro String Thong (also referred to as “the Ultimate Bush” on social media), it came in several different colors and textures, including Clay Blonde Straight and Cocoa Black Curly. Shortly after the product launch, each color and texture combo appeared to be sold out, leading people to wonder who had actually purchased them.
Many people also couldn’t overlook the way women have been pressured to remove their natural body hair for years, only for a fake version of it to be sold back to them. “First they sell various kinds of hair removal products and shame women into being hairless,” one critic wrote on Reddit. “Then when it comes back in style you can sell a solution to those who can’t grow a bush anymore because of lasering. Or better yet, sell hair removal products and this s— at the same time in hope people are stupid enough for that so they can profit even more.”
Interestingly, even Khloé seemed to kind of agree with this take. During an interview with Elle, Khloé played a game of “F—, Marry, Kill” but with SKIMS products. Elle listed some of Kim’s viral products: the nipple bra, the Merkin, and the face wrap. For Khloé, the question seemed pretty easy to answer.
“Wait, is the Merkin the bush?” Khloé asked. “The Merkin, we have to kill. I’m not for that. I love Kim, but I can’t handle it. [It’s] too much for me. What were the years of laser for? It’s crazy, right? So that’s easy.”

SKIMS’ nipple bra was also pretty controversial though. It’s advertised as a bra with a “braless look.” The description reads, “The perfect fullness, enhanced shape, and authentic augmentation of the Ultimate Bra, now with a built-in raised nipple detail for a perky, braless look that makes a bold statement.”
Unsurprisingly, when the faux public hair panties went viral, some critics compared them to the nipple bra. “And here we thought the nipple bras were bad,” one critic wrote in response to the fake bush panties. Some people actually defended Kim though. “Y’all were acting like this when she launched the nipple bra and then, when it turned out that it was for women who’d lost their nipples to breast cancelled people started groveling,” someone pointed out. “Imma just sit out here with my popcorn and wait to see the thinking behind this. Not everything is for you, and that’s ok.”
When speaking to Elle, Khloé said she actually likes the SKIMS nipple bra. “The nipple bra I love, but then when I’m wearing it, I’m like, ‘Why is everyone staring at me?'” she said. “Well, duh, because my nipples are out. But I guess marry the nipple bra and then f— the face thing.”
